32' Blue Star Luhrs – Cabo Fishing Report
August 3, 2023
Two anglers departed F Dock at 6:00 AM aboard the 32' Blue Star Luhrs for a six-hour charter with Captain Jorge. Instead of producing action from only one target species, the morning developed into a mixed catch with three dorado and two skipjack before the scheduled noon return.

Dorado Lead the Morning's Cabo Fishing
Three dorado became the primary catch aboard the Blue Star.
These fish are particularly exciting during the summer because locating one can sometimes signal additional opportunities nearby. Dorado frequently associate with favorable currents, concentrations of bait, floating material and other offshore features.
Rather than depending on one fixed location, crews watch the water continuously for signs that can point toward feeding fish.
For Captain Jorge and the Blue Star crew, that search resulted in three dorado for the two anglers.
Their speed and aggressive strikes make dorado exciting on the line, while their vivid green, yellow and blue coloration creates another memorable moment when a fish reaches the boat.
Skipjack Change the Pace of the Cabo Charter
Two skipjack added a second species to the day's tally.
Skipjack are built for speed. Their strong runs can provide an entertaining fight and break up a morning otherwise centered on dorado.

The presence of both species also gave this charter a different character from a day dominated by a single type of fish. The anglers experienced two varieties of offshore action during only six hours on the water.
Two Anglers Get Plenty of Cabo Fishing Time
A smaller private group can make a five-fish morning especially enjoyable.
With only two anglers aboard the 32' Luhrs, there was no large group competing for turns when a rod went off. Both guests could remain closely involved with the fishing throughout the trip.
The six-hour schedule also provided Captain Jorge with useful searching time.
Offshore fish move continuously, and yesterday's productive water doesn't guarantee today's results. Current, bait and changing conditions can alter where fish are found from one morning to the next.
The Blue Star had enough time to work through those variables and produce five fish from two species.
A Mixed Catch Completes the Cabo Morning
By noon, the Blue Star was returning toward F Dock after a productive morning.
Three dorado supplied the headline catch, while two skipjack brought additional variety.
For two anglers fishing aboard a 32' sportfisher, it was a balanced six-hour outing—enough time to search, encounter multiple species and experience five separate catches without committing to a full eight-hour charter.
