Double-Digit Dorado Action
Dorado controlled most of the morning.
Reaching 10 dorado during a five-hour charter meant the anglers were able to capitalize when the Blue Sky reached productive water.
For a nine-man group, repeated opportunities are particularly valuable. Instead of one or two anglers dominating the action, more members of the group can participate when fish begin entering the spread.
Dorado also provide an exciting visual fight, with their vivid colors and tendency to run aggressively near the surface.
One Wahoo Changes the Morning
Among the 12 fish was one catch that stood apart from the others.
The wahoo introduced a completely different level of speed.
These streamlined predators are known for powerful strikes and extremely fast runs. Hooking one during a morning already producing dorado added another dimension to the trip.
For the group, it meant experiencing two of Cabo's well-known offshore gamefish on the same charter.
Three Species in Five Hours
One skipjack completed the catch and brought the species count to three.
Skipjack are members of the tuna family and can fight hard once hooked. Blue Sky Cabo releases skipjack.
By 11:00 AM, the nine anglers had accumulated a diverse scorecard without needing a full eight-hour fishing day.
The final result was 12 fish representing three species during five hours aboard the 43' Riviera.
For Zach and his friends from the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. area, the combination of double-digit dorado, a wahoo and a skipjack made this a particularly varied Cabo morning.
