The morning started out slow and I don’t believe any of the other boats were having much luck either. The captain decided to try one of his favorite spots to fish for Trigger Fish. Instantly, they were biting - it was insane! This was my first time fishing for Triggers and it took some getting used to, but the crew took their time to coach me   and I had an amazing time. We had a great morning fishing! There was not tons of action trawling but we did manage 2 small tuna. Jigging the bottom got us 10+ good sized fish in 30 minutes. The crew worked hard to make sure everyone got in on the fun.

We knew this wasn’t the best season to fish but that’s why it’s called “fishing” not “catching“. This was perfect for a quick trip at a very reasonable price. Lots of sargassum to deal with but the crew worked there butts of to keep the bait rigs clean. We will definitely book another trip when we come back to Playa del Carmen. And yes, we did catch fish!
