Shallow reefs hold Cubera Snapper, Almaco Jack, Amberjack, Grouper, and Roosterfish. Around rocky points and pinnacles, you can also meet Sierra Mackerel and Barracuda. Farther out, drifting bluewater can produce Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi.
Most trips focus on freediving with a mask, fins, and a speargun. You glide over reef or lie in wait, then take a close, careful shot. Guides often set up bluewater drifts when pelagics are near the coast.
