Most of my experience fishing here outside of the charter trip has been paddle tails and shrimp from the dock behind the resort I stayed in- taking the charter really does make a world of a difference. The fish out deep in the water do not mess around and they rice a ferocious fight and are incredibly strong.

Jim simply knows what he is doing. If you want competent and a seasoned pro, this is who you choose to go out with. I’ve been fishing most of my life off the coast of Florida and in the Keys, but if I’m going offshore on a charter, I trust Jim to take me.

if youre visiting, its damn near impossible to fish from shore. do yourself a favor and book a trip with Jason at Lock It Up Charters. Aside from catching fish, a beautiful boat ride on the open water is worth the cost of admission alone!

Definitely book with a local captain so you get the best spots, avoid sketchy areas and get the right bait. Going early in the morning is key. Once it gets to noon it might be too late.
