Daily Key Largo Fishing Reports (September 2026)

My daughter landed a mac daddy bull mahi-mahi, and I was blessed with a gorgeous large female. We also pulled in several more mahi, along with bonito and runners. The action was incredible, the company was even better, and an all-around good time was had by all. This wasn’t a one-and-done trip for us—we will absolutely be back many more times. If you’re looking for an unforgettable fishing experience with an outstanding crew, book the trip!

Wreckless Fishing

Very hot! We knew coming down in August it would be hot, but whew! We were comfortable being inside in shade and there was plenty of water in the cooler

DREAM STATE CHARTERS

I am not experienced fishing in saltwater or very familiar with the Key Largo area. Rented a boat for 8-hours on July 30th hoping to just catch a few. Googled everything possible leading up the trip. Had the correct bait and chum. Highlighted "hotspots" on my Garmin. Caught zero fish. Hired a guide for July 31. Caught dozens of fish in three short hours and had a great catch & cook lunch. Being unfamiliar with the area I would definitely recommend a guide/charter.

Yes but makesure you read th description. It was exactly what was described but be prepared for mosquitoes after dark. Our captain warned aheadoftime and we were expecting them. But definitely great for 1st time trip.

If you have kids going, buy them a child size life vest for peace of mind. Fans are great if you don’t do well in the heat. Fishing sunglasses make the whole day a lot better. If you get seasick, just sleep it out and crackers help.

Take motion sickness meds the night before and the morning of the trip even if you don’t normally get motion sickness on a boat. Stay hydrated especially if it’s hot. Wear sunscreen! Enjoy the beautiful scenery! Forgot to mention in my first review that we saw a Hammerhead shark chasing our Mutton Snapper right up to the boat!!! Really cool!!!

For angler fishing for the first time I would suggest 3/4 of a day trip or a full day trip, even thought it may be more expensive it will be the best bang for you buck as far as time and the opportunity you can have to catch any and all types of fish. Offshore fishing is a must
