Cool video of a mackerel blitz a few day

These big striped bass keep hanging around Block Island. They are a lot of fun to catch, pull line, bend rods. Smiles all around. But the fish are too big to keep; they have to be let go. So when the charter says they want to bring fish home for supper we shift our efforts to bottom fish. The bottom bite is picking up. The fish---sea bass and fluke--are settling into the summer haunts. I still have a few days open in mid July --- check out the Booker calendar and book a trip.

It's here, the summer. Or feels that way to me. Fishing the past few days has been good. Some beautiful Block Island stripers. Big fish that pull hard. The bent rod. Again, as I always say: people love this. I love this. The whole damn scene from the birds to the roll of the ocean. Some decent bottom fishing trips on the 4 hr trips. Fluke, scup, sea bass.

We are finally getting some good bottom fishing trips. It's not electric fishing; we need to work at it. We fish, move, fish, move. It's work---fun work. People love it. In the end almost always people bring fish home to cook. We are proud of these fish and we want you to enjoy them for dinner. Rhode Island seafood. Summertime.
