    (2 Hour Trip)

First time fishing and caught 8!! LOVED Afonso

We booked four hours in late September 2026 with Captain Afonso and we caught 10 sea trout and almost one giant eel! We are novice (and nervous) to fishing and Afonso was kind and encouraging, and we learned so much and left exciting to fish again!! Highly recommend to anyone. Our only regret was not bringing beer, but I’m glad we didn’t because we were busy reeling in many fish :)

    (Sunset bite)

    Great trip with Capt Sam

Had a great time bottom fishing with Capt Sam. Put a little bit of everything in the boat—porgies, weakfish, sea bass, and fluke. Will definitely go out again!

Weakfish fishing is all about light tackle action and delicate bites. Weakfish are sleek, fast, and related to Spotted Seatrout. Anglers target them for exciting fights and mild, flaky fillets.

You can find Weakfish in inshore waters like bays, estuaries, and surf. Spinning with soft plastics or bucktail jigs works very well. Live bait, slow jigging, or gentle trolling also draw strikes.

Expect quick runs, head shakes, and careful hook sets. Their mouths are soft, so use light drag and steady pressure. This is a relaxed, inshore experience that suits beginners, kids, and light tackle fans.

Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses, and weather‑friendly clothing. Most captains supply rods, reels, and bait, but confirm before the trip. Check your plan for fish care and consider release if you are not keeping fish.

Regulations for Weakfish change by area and season. Always check local fishing license and permit rules before you go. Review current seasons, harvest limits, and any special closures for your destination.
