Be prepared for the weather, especially the heat and humidity. We had good cloud cover and moderate temperatures for our outing, but direct sunlight and more common summer conditions warrant sun protection and staying hydrated. Tom had cold Gatorade available on our trip.

If you’re planning a fishing trip here in July, I’d probably recommend going offshore if your goal is to bring home fish. We had several days of rain before our trip, and the inshore bite was slow, although the shark fishing was outstanding. Of course, fishing is never guaranteed, but offshore may give you a better chance at putting keepers in the cooler this time of year.
