Great Times with a Great Crew

Still catching up on trip reports after a busy stretch on the water! Richard and his wife, Mary, joined me for a great morning of speckled trout fishing, and we couldn’t have asked for a much better start. The fish were hungry, the conditions were favorable, and we stayed busy putting together a nice box of quality trout. Trips like this are a reminder that some of the best days on the water aren’t just about the fish—they’re about spending time together and enjoying everything South Louisiana has to offer. Thanks again to Richard and Mary for making the trip down. I truly enjoyed spending the morning with y’all and hope to see you back again soon!

Keith’s crew had one of those trips that really highlights what South Louisiana fishing is all about. We started the morning catching a nice box of speckled trout, then decided to check a few shorelines to see if the redfish were ready to cooperate. They were, and the guys added several nice reds before we wrapped up the trip. It’s always fun when you can mix things up and catch multiple species in the same morning. Great crew, plenty of action, and another successful day on the water. Looking forward to having these guys back!

I recently helped with another great group that decided on an afternoon trip after making the drive down that morning. The forecast had us expecting calmer seas, but Mother Nature had different plans. We started in rough water with stained conditions and managed to catch a few fish before deciding it was time to make a move. That decision paid off. We found cleaner water, the tide started falling, and the speckled trout turned on. The crew stayed busy for the rest of the afternoon and had a great time catching fish. Sometimes the best part of guiding is making the right adjustment at the right time, and this trip was a perfect example.
