Hot day on the river

This weekend was windy on Saturday, a little less on Sunday. Lots of weeds and grass in the water. We trolled for salmon both mornings and waited for the incoming tide in the afternoon. Only heard of a couple of salmon caught by a couple of different boats this weekend. Water temps were between 71-72° on the Sacramento River near Rio Vista. We have been marking allot of fish on our sonar in the area as well. Saturday afternoon we decided to find some cleaner water and catch some shaker Stripers up to 16 inches for a bit. Water temps and temps in general are cooling down this coming week. We will be back out in a few days checking on conditions again and will continue to report our findings.

Spent the morning searching for some river run King salmon. We ran through our normal areas and routine and still haven't found them to be pushing in heavy yet. We heard of at least 1 caught nearby, but there were only a few other boats in the area near us. Water temps are still 71-73°. We are getting another full moon soon, which will push more fish into the system afterwards. We spent the afternoon looking for some Stripers and found about 20 smaller sized fish and a bonus catfish on cut baits. We will be back out again this Friday for another search for the kings and will post our findings afterwards.

Still a warm day, not as hot as a few days ago though. Water temps dropped a few degrees on the Sacramento River side. Marked some fish on the graph and finally some some schoolie stripers to play with. Salmon are still slow in the lower river until the water temps fall a little more. We will be out looking for the changing conditions and will report what we find.
