Grunts, Spanish Mackerel and Short Group

Arvy and his crew put a gurting on mangrove snapper this weekend. We hit our 4 man limit of beautiful snapper roughly in hour into the trip. We had to throw back twice as many as we had a blast freelining these swimming sandwiches. After our trip came to an end, this captain took his wife and 2 young daughters for a quick scalloping trip. Filled up the cooler in a few hours and enjoyed a wonderful dinner! Summer is in full swing and we have the spots!

Great trip out nearshore today. Had a great snapper bite most of the day. Loaded up with some mangroves before switching gears to get a few trout. Saw a good assortment of species including gag grouper, mangrove snapper, key West grunts, Spanish mackeral, sea trout, lady fish, puffer fish, ramora, wrasse, jack crevelle, and black sea bass.

Turned out to be a great day with Damian and his family. Started the day off with a summer shower and the bite was on. Loaded up a cooler full of snapper with about 15 keeper snapper alone. Add a few Spanish mackerel and some grunts to go with it and they have a great dinner ahead of them. Got to love swimming tacos!
