Joe Hilliard let me know several days prior to the trip that the weather was looking very tough. He offered to let us reschedule with no strings attached. He had no obligation to do so and, from a pure business perspective, was contrary to his best interest. To a corporate guy like me, what an amazing thing to know such goodwill still exist. There are a lot of choices for guides on Lake Lanier, and Joe Hilliard is a great one!  He’s a great guy, has a well equipped boat and lots of knowledge about where and when to fish for striper.  We had fun all day and, more importantly, asked a lot of questions about fishing techniques and his boat, which he freely answered all of them.  I will be following a lot of his recommendations when I’m fishing on my boat.  Thanks again Joe!

I have been on several trips with Captain Joe Hilliard and I am extremely impressed with his skill set to locate and catch some nice stripers on Lake Lanier. He and Jeff always give kudo’s to certain charter guys that has a great reputation on the lake but I beg to differ.
