Based out of Tazacorte, on the west coast of La Palma in the Canary Islands, La Palma Atlantic Experience has access to a world-famous big game fishery that provides a great nautical experience year round. Not only are there a great many game fish nearby, but with seas a kilometer deep right next to the coast, you will be in the blue water within minutes of leaving the dock, meaning you can get the most out of every trip.

Fishing aboard the “Gatufas,” a 27’ Astinor offshore sportfishing boat, groups of up to 5 anglers can experience the thrill of big game fishing in the Canary Islands. The boat’s large deck features a fighting chair for tackling the largest of fish, while its air-conditioned interior will allow you to relax in comfort on the way to the fishing grounds. 

With seating both on deck and on the flybridge, you will also be able to combine soaking in the stunning views of the island and its marine wildlife with staying close to the fishing action.

A large number of big game fish frequent the waters near La Palma, meaning any trip aboard Gatufas could result in you catching the fish of a lifetime. It will usually take you about 10 minutes to have your lines in the water. 

With Bluefin Tuna, Blue and White Marlin, Wahoo, Bigeye Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Swordfish all within easy reach of the island, your trip has the potential to be truly memorable. And with top of the range equipment by well-known brands such as Tiagra, this could be your chance to turn your dreams into reality.

Gatufas can be taken out on fishing trips every day except Saturdays, and the flexible packages allow you and your group to have the boat to yourselves and target your preferred species. All trips include drinks, with cold water, soda, and beer supplied by the company. What else can you ask for a perfect day on the water?

The captain will prepare the boat very early for you on this morning trip. You'll usually start at 9:00 AM, depending on the type of the fishing season. Wahoo, Bigeye Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Swordfish, Bluefin Tuna, Blue and White Marlin, and many others will be on the menu.
