Your Fishing Charter

Spend a fun-packed day on the water and make memories together with Calcutta Gold. Captain Eric Newberry will take you out to the area’s rich offshore waters and make sure you catch fish and have an enjoyable experience. Pick a date and join the captain in Venice, Louisiana for a fishing adventure you won’t soon forget!

Your trip will take place on a 42’ Razorcat catamaran boat that can comfortably and safely take up to 6 anglers. It runs on four 350 HP Suzuki engines, providing a rapid reach to the desired fishing spots. The boat uses extensive navigation electronics and is equipped with outriggers, downriggers, and a livewell. It also comes with an ice-box for storing your drinks.

On your trip, you’ll be fishing for Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper, Swordfish, and more. The techniques you can expect to use to reel them in include heavy tackle, bottom fishing, big game fishing, trolling, and jigging. You’ll be keeping the fish you catch. Kids are free to join your trip, so bring them aboard and have a beautiful family day on the water.

Captain Eric provides you with the fishing rods, reels, tackle, live bait, and lures. Fuel is paid by the customer at the end of trip directly to the marina. Fuel can range anywhere from $800-$1500 per trip. After the trip, he can also clean and fillet your catch at no extra charge. What you should bring are your fishing licenses and the snacks and drinks of your choice. Need a place to stay? You and captain Eric will fish out of Venice Marina. You can target Yellowfin Tuna almost all year as well as Swordfish. You can catch Wahoo mainly in the colder months and Mahi Mahi in the summertime. Red Snapper is usually also available in the summer.
