Laguna Madre is a hypersaline lagoon, a body of water even saltier than most seawater. The laguna's salt-tolerant sea grasses and algae support equally hardy Crab, Shrimp, and Fish. The Trout, Redfish, and Black Drum population is very abundant. We will start the morning targeting Trout using live croackers and as the sun continues to rise, we move to the shallow grass flats to find Redfish and site fish Black Drums that swim just under the surface of the beautiful Padre Island canals. Trip is 6-7 hours.
