Five-hour trips are also good introduction trips to see how you will handle the seas and for those who don’t want to spend all day on the water. These trips are good for first-timers and families with kids. They typically consist of nearshore trolling for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, and/or catch and release bottom fishing. (Shark fishing is also a very exciting option if you would like to try and catch a trophy fish while in Destin.)

Captain Jayson Self began his fishing career with vacations to Destin back in 1985. Catfishing and Pinfishing got him hooked for life. Jayson spent the next four summers in Destin with his family, where he fished weekly with Captain Tommy Browning, the local legend. By the late 1980s, Jayson was a tournament angler, having fished with no other than his own mother as a teammate. But it wasn’t until 2015 when Jayson was finally able to realize the family dream of having his own charter boat. He now makes a living fishing full time and is exceptional at what he does.

How cancellations work

Free cancellation up to 7 days prior to trip

You may cancel your trip free of charge up to 7 days in advance. However, since your selected date is less than 7 days away, you may only cancel if it is unsafe to travel.
