Book your next trip with Club Talk Fishing Charters and find out what the fishing in Whakatane is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mick is prepared to put you on fish. 

Bluenose Warehou, Hapuka, Kingfish, Albacore Tuna, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Bluefin Tuna, Pink Snapper, Tarakihi, Pink Maomao, Scorpionfish, and more can be found in these waters, depending on the season. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. 

You'll be casting lines from a 35' Centre cab catamaran that can carry up to 10 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials that no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Kids 5 years old and over are welcome, so go ahead and bring the family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available.

Rods and reels are supplied at an additional cost, so ask the captain about bringing your own or renting some of theirs which is already set up. There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count.

You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Don't leave home without lunch, drinks, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Experience the trip of a lifetime targeting Southern Bluefin Tuna in one of New Zealand's most renowned fisheries at Waihau Bay.
These trips are only available from June to the end of July, so book early to avoid disappointment!
This style of fishing involves trolling lures using game rods and reels. 
Bring your lunch and drinks. Starting at 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., departing Waihau Bay Boat Ramp. The group limit is 5 people. Rod hire and all tackle is available for $50 per person. Seasonal.

This trip is designed for any angler with little to no experience. Spend a relaxing day out with friends and family anchored up next to the Opotiki Mussel Farm. This fishery has become very well established, providing some exceptional fishing. This is the perfect trip to enjoy family time with your kids in the fresh air while giving them the challenge of catching their very own fish. Up to 10 guests. Rod and reel hire is available for $50 per person. 

Full Day Trip – Inshore

White Island/Whakaari is our most popular trip by far! Spend a full day fishing the deepwater around one of New Zealand's Most active volcanoes.
Target giant species ranging from Kingfish, Bass, Hapuku, and Bluenose. It is a fishing experience you will never forget!
Note: Electric reels and rod hire at $50 per person are available on request. If you're not hiring our rods, please ensure your reels are set up for conditions at White Island. Bring your lunch, drinks, and appropriate clothing. Seasonal trip.
