Your Fishing Charter

As you may have guessed from the name, Okeechobee Guide Service is located on the largest freshwater lake in Florida. As well as being famous for its size, it's also home to a huge and diverse Bass population! Come aboard and get ready to cast your line in these calm, fish-filled waters.

Captain Mike Jones will be your guide for the day. With over 15 years of experience running charters on the lake, he has unrivaled knowledge of these waters and hopes to make each trip a true pleasure for every guest. He runs trips targeting the different species of Bass that live here, as well as longer trips along the lake's saline backwaters. 

Capt. Mike welcomes you aboard his 20’ Ranger Trition bass boat – naturally, she's the most suitable boat to explore these waters from!  She can accommodate up to 3 guests. Powered by a 225 HP Mercury engine, she has a maximum cruising speed of 60 knots, which will definitely get some wind in your hair. The vessel is equipped with all the necessary navigational and safety equipment, too.

You’ll be targeting the most popular fish in the region: Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. The lake is abundant with them, and they’re a real gem not only to reel in but serve as tasty table fare! Along the backwaters, you’ll go after Bonefish, Redfish, Snook, and Speckled Trout, which provide excellent game and food qualities. You’ll be mainly spin casting, but fly fishing equipment is available for the more advanced among you. 

As well as an amazing day of fishing, you’ll get to learn plenty about the region’s wildlife from the knowledgable Capt. Mike. Rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included in the price, and you can purchase live bait at a cost of $20 a dozen. With drinks offered on board, just bring some snacks for your trip, as well as a fishing license.

This 8-hour adventure is the perfect option for more seasoned anglers or guests who really want to make the most of the productive freshwaters of Lake Okeechobee and its surrounding rivers and waterways. If you're an early bird looking for the perfect introduction to Lake Okeechobee, as well as its surrounding brackish waters, this 4-hour trip is the perfect option! You'll explore Lake Okeechobee and the Indian River for species such as Largemouth Bass, Bonefish, Redfish, Snook, and Speckled Trout. Your captain will provide all the fishing gear you need, so just purchase a fishing license, and you're good to go.

Half Day Trip (AM)

If you're more of a late riser, spend 4 hours exploring Lake Okeechobee and the Indian River during this afternoon adventure. You'll be targeting prized species such as Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Bonefish, Redfish, Snook, and Speckled Trout. This trip will allow you to familiarize yourself with both fresh and brackish waters, as well as fishing techniques such as spinning with both light and heavy tackle. Your captain will provide the gear, so just bring along a license.

Half Day Trip (PM)

The fruitful waters of the Okeechobee Lake and Indian River offer fantastic freshwater and backcountry fishing opportunities, so why not give yourself a little more time to explore them? Spend 6 hours trying to reel in as many  Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Bonefish, Redfish, Snook, and Speckled Trout as you can! Your captain will provide your fishing gear, so just bring along a fishing license.
