Your Fishing Charter

Capt Steve has been charter fishing these waters since 1978. Until recently he owned and ran the Free Spirit, a very well known and respected 34’ calvin beal downeast boat which he sold and bought a brand new 19’ Key West center console to take advantage of the great back bay fishing the area has to offer. On the the It’ll do, we will be fishing the backwaters and inlet as well as the near shore reefs out of Great Egg Inlet. The nice thing about fishing in these areas is that you need not worry about sea sickness and the fishing is great!  
You’ll be fishing with top-quality equipment which includes Shimano, Fin-Nor, Quantum, and Tsunami rods and reels. The captain will be happy to clean your catch so you can take it home for dinner. Just don’t forget to bring an icebox to store it after the trip.

These waters are abundant with marine life, and home to a variety of fish species. You’ll be able to fish for bluefish, bonita, black sea bass, Black Drum, Flounder, porgies, triggerfish,striped bass, and under the right conditions, bluefin tuna when available. Depending on your preference, check out the specialized trips and get that bucket list specimen!

This is a family-friendly charter, so feel free to take your kids out on the water and show them a good time! Capt Steve tought for 31 years and has the patience and know how to teach everyone how to catch fish. There are life jackets on board, and kids of all ages are welcome, so you can make some amazing new memories with them.

Depending on the trip If you enjoy your trip, you can consider leaving a 15–20% tip. Make sure to bring sunscreen, hats, food, and drinks so you can fully enjoy your time on the water.

This trip is designed for folks who don’t want to venture into the ocean but stay in the generally calmer waters of the bay. We fish for croakers, weakfish,fluke,and small bluefish. This is a great trip for those with young children who are perhaps on their first venture into saltwater fishing. Bending rods and smiling faces!

we will fish in the back bay for a variety of species. this is a great trip for the youngsters that have a shorter attention span.  we will bend the rods and watch their smiles!  Everything you need will be provided.

3 hr back bay fishing

We will fish the inlet and backwaters of Great Egg Bay for a variety of fish.  All tackle and instruction will be supplied.  

4 hour back bay charter

With the new spotlock trolling motor we can sit right on the structure that the big tog call home. The early season runs from Aprill 1-30. From May till August 1, you are not allowed to keep any but they are a blast to catch and are usually eager eaters! The late season starts on November 1  and goes to the end of the year. Great eating fish once you get the knack of hooking them.

Tautog(blackfish) 4 hrs

We will use handlines and traps to catch blue claw crabs in the back bay. This is great fun for all ages and you get to take these tasty critters home and enjoy them at the dinner table! Everything you need will be supplied except for the sunscreen and bug spray. Kids and adults both love catching these delicious denizens of the backwaters.  STARTING TIME DEPENDS ON THE TIDES ON THE DAY OF THE TRIP!  Think of the fun of having your own crab eating party! We might even catch a fish or two!

New For 2025-Crabbing charters!

This is a great trip if you want to explore the more shallow waters of the atlantic ocean. You'll do some trolling and bottom fishing for 5 hours, reeling in different species such as weakfish, croakers, fluke,Bluefish, Seabass, and Scup. All the equipment will be provided for you, just bring some sunscreen, drinks, and snacks, and you're all set!

5 Hour Trip – Inshore

Same as the 4 hr trip but you get an extra hour of fishing time which mesns that we can target striped bass in the backwaters in every month. Fluke and an occasional weakfish also are caught.

5 hr back bay and inlet trip

Great fishing for one of the best eating fish in the ocean. Limits are normal on these trips.

8 Hour Trip – Seabass

We fish for a multitude of species including fluke, sea bass, weakfish, croakers,spanish mackeral, king mackeral, and an occasional mahi mahi. We troll, cast, and bounce the bottom depending on the species we’re targeting. We are  usually up to 15 miles offshore on reefs and wrecks. It’s a great day on the water with everything you need supplied.

7 hr inshore fishing

We target the elusive striped bass within 3 miles of the shore. We troll, cast, jig, ir do whatever is needed to catch these beauties.
