Your Fishing Charter

Pork Chop Express Charters is here to help you catch your personal best, trophy-size Walleye and Perch. This Great Lakes charter service provides fishing trips on Lake Erie in Ohio. Captain Sam Downing (Pork Chop) primarily covers water from Port Clinton to Lorain and we could launch anywhere in between those towns. Make certain to ask the captain where you should arrange your hotel accommodations. He loves teaching people how to fish, helping them create lifelong memories, and showing them the quality of fishing in this area.

The boat you’ll be fishing from is a 2017 North River Seahawk. This 27’ aluminum boat accommodates up to 6 guests and there’s enough room for everybody to fish at the same time. She’s fully equipped with a Garmin Electronics package and top safety gear. As she’s powered by a strong 300 HP Yamaha engine, rest assured you’ll reach your fishing spot quickly.

Capt. Sam trailers the boat so you can use docks between Oak Harbor and Lorain, depending on where the fish are located, the time of year, and the weather. You will know a day or two ahead of time what will be the meeting point for your trip. Pickup is available upon request at an extra charge.

You can troll, drift, cast, or jig (in the spring) – the choice is yours. You can also choose the time that suits you best – morning or second trip on one-hour notice.

The captain provides everything needed for fishing from rods and reels to bait. Catch cleaning and filleting are available at an additional price. Sometimes the captain can fillet the fish at some ramps otherwise he will direct you to a local fish cleaner where you can have them cleaned. You’ll need to bring your fishing license, proper clothing, food and drinks, and a cooler for them. Don’t forget motion sickness medicine if you know you’ll need it.

The captain will clean and fillet your walleye only after the trip for $2 per fish if a cleaning station is at the ramp we use that day or direct you to a local fish cleaner. so make sure to bring a cooler to take the catch home either way. Purchase your fishing license on time. Ask the captain where you should stay we use different ramps. Launch time varies with sunrise.

A special 2-4 person trip for Walleye/perch captain will let you know based on time of year 4 hours dock to dock. All bait, tackle, and gear provided. Fish filleting is available by the captain at some ramps or he will direct you to a local cleaner. The trip will start after the morning trip is completed anywhere from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the captain will give you a 1 hour notice to meet at the ramp. Ask captain where you should stay we use several different ramps.

4 Hour Trip –  (PM) 2-4 people

This 6-hour adventure will take you targeting perch. The captain will provide all gear and bait for the trip. He will point you to local fish cleaners to get your fish cleaned. Bring your cooler with drinks and snacks and enjoy the day. Ask your captain ahead of time where you should stay as we depart from several different launches based on Weather and time of the year. Departure time fluctuates with the sunrise.

6 Hr Trip – (AM) Perch 2-6 person

This 6-hour adventure will take you targeting Walleye. The captain will clean and fillet your catch after the trip for $2 per fish if a cleaning station is at the ramp we use that day, if not he will direct you to a local fish cleaner. Purchase your fishing license on time. The departure time varies with sunrise schedule. The launch location varies by time of year and weather ask the captain where you should stay. Bring a cooler with drinks and snacks and enjoy your day.

6 Hr Trip – Walleye (AM) 2-6 ppl

This 6-hour adventure will take you targeting perch. The captain will provide all gear and bait for the trip. He will point you to local fish cleaners to get your fish cleaned. Bring your cooler with drinks and snacks and enjoy the day. Ask the captain where you should stay we use difgerent boat ramps. Trip departs between 9-1 with 1 hr notice when first trip

6 Hr Trip – Perch (PM) 2-6 People

This 6-hour adventure will take you targeting Walleye. The captain will clean and fillet your catch after the trip for $2 per fish if a cleaning station is at the ramp we use that day or direct you to a local fish cleaner. Purchase your fishing license on time. The launch location varies by time of year and weather ask the captain where you should stay. Trip is on call with a one hr notice from 9 am to 1 pm as soon as 1st trip complete.

6 Hr Trip – Walleye (PM) 2-6 ppl

This 8 hour adventure will take you targeting perch and walleye. The captain will provide all gear and bait for the trip. He will point you to local fish cleaners to get your fish cleaned.
