Make an adventure out of your next trip to Galveston and go fishing with Michael Regan.

You’re likely to go after Speckled Trout, Redfish, Pompano, Jack Crevalle, Mangrove Snapper, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Flounder, Sheepshead, Tripletail, Spanish Mackerel, and more, depending on when you go. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Michael also offers fly fishing.

If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to keep ‘em happy!

You’ll be dropping lines from a 24’ Kenner bay boat that holds up to 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

 On this trip, you will focus on fishing some of the famous shallow water reefs and flats around Galveston Bay. More of a backwater-style trip you will spend the majority of the time fishing oyster reefs, drop-offs, cuts, and other various shallow water locations. This trip can consist of some longer boat rides as compared to our jetty trips but is normally conducted in calm protected waters.

On this longer trip, you will cover more of the bay complex and visit harder-to-reach locations. More of a backwater-style trip you will spend the majority of the time fishing oyster reefs, drop-offs, cuts, and other various shallow water locations.
