Your Fishing Charter

Book your next trip with Calcutta Gold and find out what makes the fishing in Venice so unique. Captain Eric will be your guide, which allows you to benefit from years of sportfishing experience. 

Around here it's common to catch Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Swordfish, Red Snapper, and more, depending on the time of year. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. 

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach! 

Capt. Eric operates the MoistCat, a 37' Freeman catamaran with capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.

You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
