If you’re here to make the most of fishing in Huntington Beach, look no further than Fishing With Tanner.

You’re likely to fish for Bluefin Tuna, Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, and more. On the day of your trip you’re likely to drift using heavy tackle. Capt. Tanner can also have you kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.

Fishing With Tanner is a kid-friendly charter service, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that everyone stays happy and energized!

You’ll step aboard a 33’ World Cat catamaran that holds up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Tanner will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait and frozen bait according based on type of trip. 

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
