Your Fishing Charter

Book your next trip with Alexandria Bay Fishing with Capt. Dawson and find out what you're missing on the St Lawrence River. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Dawson knows them forwards and back. 

These waters are home to Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and more, depending on conditions.

During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt Dawson also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. 

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Don't forget to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly! 

You'll step aboard a 21' Skeeter bass boat with room for 4 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Dawson will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures.

You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

A half-day, 4-hour, typically morning trip starts around 11 am. My goal every day is to provide guests with the opportunity to catch a Big Smallmouth of a lifetime. You will learn new techniques to target and catch St Lawrence River Smallmouth, whether you’re an experienced angler or just a beginner.
