Your Fishing Charter

Whether you are looking to fish for the state water Red Snapper all-year-round or troll for various Billfish, Reel Obsession Sport Fishing will hook you up. Join them aboard their spacious vessel and head out of Port Mansfield, Texas.

Your boat for the day will be a 31’ Cape Horn center console. This is a powerful fishing machine with twin 250 HP Suzuki engines and plenty of room for up to 6 anglers. The boat is fully outfitted with electronics to help you find big fish. There are also a couple of iceboxes, outriggers, a livewell, and an array of professional accessories. 

Reel Obsession Sport Fishing uses quality gear by Shimano. When trolling, you will use lures or ballyhoo. If you want to get your hands on Red Snapper, you will be using jigs, live bait, or dead bait which will be prepared for you before the trip. 

The list of your potential catches will include Red Snapper, Cobia, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Grouper, Amberjack… and the list just keeps going!

All trips include the use of rods, reels, tackle, bait, lures, and a complimentary fish cleaning service. You will need to purchase a valid fishing license before you make your first cast. Your drinks and food are also welcome on board. 



Reel Obsession Sport Fishing

This half-day, afternoon Snapper trip will leave the dock at 1 p.m. and return at 6 p.m. This trip will have you mainly targeting Red snapper and Kingfish, but you can also catch Ling, Grouper, and Sharks as well.   Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

This is a great trip for beginners wanting to learn offshore but not be out all day. We will fish inshore state water rocks for red snapper and kingfish. 

Half Day Trip – Red Snapper (AM)

Catch your limits of 4 Red Snapper per person while fishing the state waters and then go for Cobia and Kingfish. This trip is great year-round! Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

7 Hour Trip – Red Snapper

A 9-hour trolling trip. The captain will take you trolling 35-50 miles offshore for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Sailfish, and Marlin.

9 Hour Trip – Trolling

On this trip, you will be chasing shrimp boats offshore to catch Blackfin Tuna, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Sharks. You can also come closer to shore to target Red Snapper.  Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

10 Hour Trip – Shrimp Boat

Spend your whole day fishing for whatever is in season and biting. Troll for Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Sailfish, Kingfish, and Marlin. If you wish, you can run back to the state waters to catch Red Snapper at the end of the trip.  Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

12 Hour Trip – Trolling

On this trip, you will target Blue and White Marlin, and Sailfish. Your captain will take you about 60 miles offshore to troll along the continental shelf, targeting Billfish, but you'll also have a chance to battle big Mahi and Wahoo as well. You'll leave before the sun comes up and return before sunset. Please check with the captain if there is an extra fuel surcharge for offshore trips.

14 Hour Trip – Billfishing

On this 14 hour swordfish trip we will be fishing 60-70 miles offshore drifting in over 1500’ for trophy swordfish.  Port Mansfield has one of the  best swordfish fisheries in the world with trophy swordfish up to and over 500lbs.  You can have up to 4 anglers on this trips.  The swordfish are hard fighing fish with the battle sometime lasting up to 5 hours on the larger fish.  It is a exciting battle with the swordfish jumping out of the water at times.  Come knock that swordfish off your bucket
