If you’re looking to experience Southwest Florida like a true local, then Capt. Scotty Roe Fishing Charters should be at the top of your bucket list. Captain Scotty Roe has been fishing Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda since he was a young kid and he knows all the sweet spots to get you hooked up! Whether you’re looking to fly fish, jig, cast, or anything in between, Capt. Scotty’s got the right set of skills to have you land the fish of your dreams.

You’ll spend the day aboard the captain’s 18’ Hewes flats boat. This boat comes with a fighting chair, state-of-the-art electronics, fishing gear, and safety equipment to ensure a successful day on the water. She accommodates up to 3 guests, including children ages 7 and older, and everyone can fish at the same time.

Capt. Scotty will take you fishing along the grass flats and mangrove islands of Port Charlotte to target a range of species. Some of your top fishing areas include Punta Gorda, Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and the Peace and Myakka Rivers. 

You’ll have your hands full as you put up a fight against Bull Reds, Snook, Tarpon, Mangrove Snapper, Spotted Seatrout, and Jack Crevalle. Other target species include Cobia, Flounder, Tripletail, and anything else that takes the bait.

Top-of-the-line rods and reels are supplied on every trip, including fly fishing equipment. One person can fly fish at once and you’ll have a spacious deck to fish comfortably from. If it’s your first time, no need to worry, Capt. Scotty is an expert fly fisherman and he’ll take you through the process step-by-step.

Your fishing license and catch cleaning services are included in the price as well. All you have to bring is sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and some drinks and snacks. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to your trip and get ready for an incredible adventure.

This trip will see you fishing the backcountry grass flats and mangrove islands of Port Charlotte, FL. You'll be specifically fishing the Peace River, Myakka River, and in the Charlotte Harbor. Get ready for an incredible adventure in Port Charlotte, FL! You'll be fishing the shallow waters of Peace River, Myakka River, and Charlotte Harbor to target species such as Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Snook, Spotted Seatrout, Jack Crevalle, Flounder, Tarpon, and Cobia. All necessary equipment and tackle is included in the price, as well as your fishing license. Just be sure to bring some sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat and feel free to pack snacks and drinks.

6 Hour Trip – Backcountry

Tarpon Season run In Charlotte Harbor it runs from May through September.  These fish get up to 200 pounds.  The like to dance in the air and shake their heads at you.  If you want a fighting fish just for sport, this is your fish.  You may have the Tarpon on for just a moment or you may be fighting it for hours. 
All fishing equipment is includes, fishing licences and a cooler of ice.

Shark fishing has been hot lately!! You will be catching Bull or Blacktip Shark. Little sharks will be caught in Charlotte Harbor and up the Rivers.  Huge sharks will be caught off of Boca Grande. Fishing off of Boca Grande is not for the faint at heart. All equipment, bait, and licenses are included, along with a cooler of ice.
