Flounder Gigging Trip (Night) • 4 adultsWe take at least 2 guided trips a year with our boys all over the country. All types of fishing and this was our first time Giggin’! Dave was SO great!! This is at the top of our list as being one of our favorite family trips. My boys loved it and Dave was engaging and I have to believe the best giggin’ guide in Port A. We highly recommend him and look forward to another trip in the future!

Flounder Gigging Trip (Night) • 2 adultsCapt Dave was there early, all ready to go. Quick into then we went right out. Got to initial fishing spot before sundown and watched the sunset. Got to gigging and the conditions were rather murky. We fished there for about ten minutes not seeing much. Passed on a few small ones. We cranked up and went to another place. Started thinking shouldnt have passed on the small ones. But got couple flounder there. Then cranked up and went a few miles and started back in. We worked all around getting a few here and there. We started fishing at 830 PM and by 1045 we had our limit of ten for my 23 yo son and I. We fished for another half hour or so after sheepshead and black drum getting one. They were quite fast and it was pretty cold out. We quickly went back to the dock and Dave nicely filleted the fish. We were in our car by 1130. Dave worked hard to put us on fish, not afraid to leave marginal conditions for better. He talks the right amount and his boat is set up just perfect for gigging. It's fast and smooth on the big motor and the prop works well. The lights are really good, but it's still plenty challenging. It's a lot of fun and is something different from the usual fishing. Good value for the money. I liked seeing his fishing reports as they gave an accurate depiction of how the fishing was progressing and it was as good for us as for those before us. Go with Dave, you'll like it.

Flounder Gigging Trip (Night) • 2 adultsCaptain Dave was top notch...There were four of us and we gigged 4 limits of flounder plus a sheepshead. The boat was top of the line and Dave is a skilled captain and fisherman. I’ve floundered before but Dave pointed out fish I never would’ve seen...highly recommended!

What's biting with Surrender At Sunrise – Flounder Gigging Trips in Aransas Pass
The waters are at their hottest following the summer rays, and a whole load of new fish come to the fore. Go after Tarpon and Bull Reds in the shallows, along with delicious Mahi Mahi and Mackerel further out.

Light Winds Clear Water

Couldn’t have asked for a better night out on the boat last night. Conditions were amazing with light winds and clear water for Darrell Scanlan and Group of five. It was their first time gigging and we got on the fish right from the get-go! We ended the night with their 25 flounder limit and 3 sheepshead!! (1 person not pictured) Thanks guys for the trip. ??

Recent Gigging

The past four nights the gigging has remained good except one night. The lighter winds the past couple of nights, the water clarity has been the best that I’ve seen in a while. The tide level is still very high and bait fish are hiding somewhere else, seeing hardly any while gigging. Mostly all the fish have been laying on a hard sand bottom with some on dead grass, tight up against the bank and tucked up underneath mangrove trees. It’s been taking 3-3.5 hours to find a 20 flounder limit. Thanks guys for the trips!

Honeymoon Trip

Fun night with Kara and Kayleb Priour enjoying their honeymoon out on the boat! It was their first time gigging also. We got their flounder and went on the hunt for some sheepshead. We ended the night with their 10 flounder limit, 7 sheepshead, and 1 drum!! All the fish were laying on a hard sand bottom. Pleasure meeting y’all - hope to see ya again.

Terrible Conditions, Quick Limits!

We did damn good on another terrible gigging condition kind of night! Double boat trip with Capt James, Chris Fitzgerald and Group of five. The water clarity was terrible once again and the fish were very hard to see but we made it happen with their 25 flounder limit in about 2.5 hours!! All the fish were laying on a sand bottom 10 feet or so off the bank. Thanks guys for the trip. ??

Slow Start, Finished Strong

Slow start once again with only 5 fish in the boat at 10:30pm for Kevin Williams and Group of six. Once the tide started to move the fish did too. We made a few more stops to find their 30 flounder limit, 1 sheepshead, and 1 drum by 12:30am, an hour later then the night before. All the fish were laying on a hard sand bottom. Thanks guys for the trip - it was a fun time.??
