Pepe was at the wheel. We spent most of our time with Alberto who worked hard to change lures out and set up multiple lines. When we were unsuccessfully catching closer to shore, they took us out further where they heard other boats were experiencing success. About 1.5 hours into the trip, we caught out first fish (mahi mahi aka Dorado) and after that we reeled in 7 tuna (about 10 minutes apart)! We saw about 30 dolphins total who were swimmming along our boat and feeding on tuna. It was beautiful! We also saw a whale breech a few times. We were hopeful to catch one fish, but catching 8 exceeded our expectations!! We will be coming to Cabo again and will most definitely choose to fish with Alberto and Pepe on the Viviana IV!

The captain and 1st mate did an excellent job. I appreciated the determination they displayed in going after the fish. The owner, Kim, runs an excellent operation and obviously takes pride in what her and her team does!
I highly recommend them!

Didn’t catch anything. Not sure why we went straight out and all the other boats went north up the coastline where we were taken on other trips.
Bottom Line: $500 and no fish at all.
I cannot recommend since I don’t know for sure if the problem was inability of the captain or not

Our all day excursion was September 5th, 2016.  Started out bright and early and snagged the first yellow fin tuna before 7:30am!!!  Moments later, my husband had his marlin on the line…took over an hour to bring him in and he measured 8.5 feet!!!  We continued and caught 2 more yellow fin tuna and then around 11:00am, I had the fight of my life on the line…took over 20 minutes to bring in my 4.5 wahoo and it was even 11:30am!!!  We caught 5 total…black marlin, wahoo and 3 yellow fin tuna.  Even though we paid for the whole day, we were done!!!  What a great experience and can’t wait to go again!!!

We trolled for 8 hrs.  No fish.  The Pacific was “too rough” so they took us to less fruitful waters in the Sea of Cortez.  In the end we spotted one Marlin, but had no action all day.  The deckhand was very nice and spoke good English, but the Capt remained quiet and refused to turn back when the deck hand said let’s try again for the one Marlin we spotted.  Maybe just an unlucky day, but that’s fishing I guess.

Initial meet up easy to find and smooth.  Licence and bait purchase no problem.  Jose and Ernesto keen to share their experience and find fish, although as they said it has been a slow month so far.  Within an hour hooked into a sailfish estimated as being about 100 lbs, wahoo snaffled the other livebait whilst we were dealing with the sailfish.  Boated photo’d and released for another day.  Slow morning then a shark about midday.  On the way back in spotted a marlin on the surface which took a hastily prepared live bait but then threw the hook.
Met goal 1 which was to catch a fish taller than i was but unfortunately didn’t meet goal 2 which was to catch one heavier than me!  next time…..

I booked this trip for my three boys, ages 19, 23 and 24… and sent them on their way to the marina.  Everything went as planned.  They came back with smiles, photos, fish and great things to say about Victor their Captain. The boys brought the tuna back to the hotel restaurant who then prepared the fish for a fabulous meal for our family.  Overall great experience.

I would highly recommend this boat and crew.

This experience would have only been improved with the catching of some different type of fish.  Of course that is not fully in control of the crew by any means.  We did catch several Bonita, but could not find the snapper or sea bass.  We did have a marlin follow the trolled lures, but did not engage it. I do highly recommend the full day fishing trip because the 1/2 day is way too short and does not allow enough time to go out to the deeper waters to possibly catch that prized fish.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the crew.  We will be back to do it again.

We went out early Sunday morning for a fishing trip, buddy’s 40th bday. Crew was professional and efficient from the start. Since there is little bird activity on the water it’s hard to see where the bait is, and it feels like needle in a haystack fishing. Nothing for 2 hours, then a nice Yellow fin, which we cooked up later that night. Seemed like we were really in the fish then. 150 pound lemon shark was next! Crew dealt with it well, got it back in the water, that was a blast. That was the end of the fish unfortunately, but who can complain! Didn’t see any other boats in any fish.
Boat was shipshape always and solid Cummins diesel roar. The only thing I would complain about was that the Captain was a regular smoker and I am sensitive, so if you mind smoking might be an issue for some.
I would definitely recommend my experience to others. I’m glad I did my homework before because it seemed we had the best boat of the morning.

Captian and first mate are clearly inexperianced , i have caught marlin, sailfish and other fish before , there technique is very poor , there are other ways to fish for marlin to increase you odds of catching one, fished all day and did not even get a bite , we even saw marlin on the surface feeding , but still nothing , also, the marina is overcharging for bait, we did’nt find out that , until we paid for the charter and were on our way out,  if you have never fished before , you might think the fish just were not biting , but they really have a poor fishing technique, most of the time the first mate was up top . instead of trying to increase our odds of fishing, We only used 5 lines , all other good fisherman use 7 or more , i don’t think they now how to use 7 lines , they thought my the idea of putting bait on every line was no good, i disagree !

Weather was questionable but the crew did little to nothing to make the trip better. They spent more time “looking” for fish. There was one fish caught while fishing for bait - but we bought bait - and the crew kept it!  I would NOT recommend this boat, crew or fishing company. More expensive than others and lazy crew.  I understand bad weather but the crew had two lines in and never gave us an opportunity to actually fish. No trolling and only the two lines in. We made it clear that we were experienced and could handle setting our own hooks. We never touched a pole! The crew fished when they weren’t moving the boat to another location. Other boats around us caught fish but I felt our crew didn’t really care if they caught or not. We thought we would get the one fish landed on OUR charter even tho the crew member brought it on board. Nope. Apparently they wanted it. In showing pics of that fish We were told it is a desirable grouper type fish.  I fish charters a lot, this is one of two truly awful fishing trips in the last 15 years. I think the crew could not have cared less about our experience on their boat.

Prompt, efficient, friendly, knowledgeable.  My Grandson and my two son-in-laws and myself had a very enjoyable adventure.  The fishing wasn’t great for any of the boats but my Granson got to reel in a nice sail fish, which we ate, and a sea bass which was small and we threw back.  The crew went out of their way to entertain us and gave us a very nice half day of FUN.  I recommend the whole operation very professional and easy to deal with.  Thanks for the memories.

The Viviana IV was a great boat for our group of five. We were able to load up on snacks and beer at the floating store for the half day trip, picking up bait and licenses along the way. Boat was clean and in great shape. We spotted two marlin but were unable to get a hook on them. The slow morning turned into an exciting afternoon when all five lines pulled in some good size tuna.  The crew and captain were just amazing, super friendly and helpful, finding the best spots to drop lines. They took us out to a group of dolphins and gave us a tour of the coast line on the cruise back to the docks. These guys have two sea lion friends that join the boat for the ride back into the docks for a snack on the remaining bait.  Great guys, would definitely recommend the Viviana IV! A fun and successful trip!

THE Viviana I It all starts when you book your trip with FISHING BOOKER.  They set us up with Kim and the boys.  Everything on the boat is top notch, the captain and first mate know the water and where to go for a variety of fish.  We went after blue marlin.  After about 45 min. we hooked two at the same time and then after we got all the lines in they crossed and we lost them… bummer, they were really BIG ! So back to fishing we had a small one following but no luck.  A short time after that, the big one hit and it was “Game On.”  Just about four hours later we get him to the boat.  11 ft. long. 234 lbs. and more fun than you can imagine!  Highly recommended.  Thanks Fishing Booker and Kim!

The boat and crew on the VIVIANA were very good they tried hard for the 2 days and didn’t mind going out wide in search of marlin .we landed a sail fish however the poor bugger died.it didn’t go to waste we had it cooked 4 ways Mexican style at one of the local restaurants ,first time I ate sailfish and its not to bad !!! hooked a couple of blue Marlin but unfortunately could not land one .maybe next time. All said and done the experience was fantastic and I would recommend the boat and crew for a great days fishing.

The boat was a good size for me and my wife and well maintained.

We were very happy with your service and pricing for the 2 days and if we go back I will sure to be in contact.

Me and my buddy just came back from fishing on the Viviana IV over the Labor Day weekend 2015. Overall is was a ‘good’ experience. I say good and not excellent only because of some personal preferences that may or may not mean anything to you. The Captain ‘David’ and his mate ‘Roberto’ were excellent in their knowledge and experience. I recommend them highly. The boat itself served its purpose. No bells and whistles but had all the necessary equipment to catch any type fish. I would only recommend three things: 1) Now I wished we would have set sail earlier than 7am. By the time we got our fishing license, bait, some bottled water and motored out to our destination….I think we missed out on the peak fishing window. We caught two fish back to back almost when we first threw our lines in. Then is was pretty dead for several hours. We called it a day when we were headed back to the Marina and taking our lines out of the water when we lucked out and caught one last fish. Try to leave at 6am if you can. 2) I would have liked to have been listening to some music on the boat. The Viviana does not have a radio/speaker. This would have helped with the several hours of dead time. 3) and last, it would have been a nice gesture if the crew had a few complimentary beers on ice. You have the option to buy your own beer or liquor at the store before you sail. But it just wasn’t important at the time. It was only after we had been our for awhile that I wished the crew had a few cold ones to serve. That would have been nice along with the music. But again, these are my ‘personal’ preferences. Overall, it was a very good experience and recommend booking your next trip with the ‘33 Viviana IV. P.S. It was also very nice that the owner of boat was waiting for us to return so that she could say hello and ask us about our experience. Very nice!!  Jeff and Doug.

I went fishing with the Viviana knowing that fishing is quite slow in this period - so expectations were not at the top. Just one catch: a shark (tiburon toro)!

I was disappointed by the fact that I asked the captain to go for roosters before trolling for billfishes, but my request was completely ignored by the captain who said that there were no roosters around - three days after I went fishing with another boat and captain/crew in Cabo San Lucas and caught 2 roosters (the third one didn’t hook): evidently, roosters were around - in particular, they were in the place that each person I spoke with in CSL suggested to go.

In my view, the angler decides what to fish and how, also based on the techniques that the boat/captain is supposed to pursue on the basis of their profile - of course captain’s suggestions are always more than welcome, but anglers’ requests cannot be ignored with poor arguments!

Booked the 30’ viviana for one day chart for 4. I already knew fishing was really slow this time of year due to the heat and high water temps. But when we meet the crew they were very positive, nice, and funny as hell. I told him “one fish is all we need”! He Said we’ll make it happen. Out on the water it was horribly hot and humid 3 of the 4 people I was with got a little sea sick and burnt out from the heat. Fishing was slow like I planned. I figured it was just going to be a nice day out on the boat. The crew were positive the while time. Sure enough we hooked and I landed my first sailfish! I was beyond stoked and everyone on board perked up after that for sure. Only 4 boats brought in fish that day. So I was happy as hell to be one of them. Big thanks to the crew and vivianna! Will definitely be coming back when fishing picks up

I could tell rightaway the captain and mate knew what they were doing. After setup the mate saw a sailfish hit one of the baits. He flew down from the tower and thru a live bait to him.  Hooked up and landed a 90lb x 7 ft long sail.  we live realeased him.  Only problem on the boat was mine.  My camera messed up and was not able to get a pic. Just before ready to come in the captain put the boat at full throttle, I wondered what was going on.  Found out he was setting the hook on a Blue Marlin. Got things settled down and I brought in a 250lb Blue.  Realeased him too.  Great day.  Will use these guys next trip too. Two things off my Bucket List!  Don"t be afraid to use Vivianna 1, you won’t be sorry. I would give these guys 6 stars out of 5.  Thanks again guys.

My wife and I took our grandson for his requested all-day tour onthe Viviana in Cabo San Lucas. We got there by 6:30am as requested. The first stop was to the marina to get our licenses. During the stop, we were told that we would have to pay for ice because the people who supplied it to the boat were out. I didn’t feel that was our problem, but we paid for the ice anyway.
We then went out and paid $30.00 for about 8 bait fish and the bait boat gave the captain a large block of ice that he put under the deck.
Fishing started. The first mate put out several lures on lines and we started trolling. The only indication given to us was that we were going for a big fish. No one told us how the fishing was set to go or if we could fish for other types offish.
The boat was not set up for comfort in the lower deck area. The only shade was mid-ship and there was just one large square padded seat with no back support there.
After three hours of sitting in the sun, my wife got the first mate and asked for instruction. The mate came down then and told us that they are trolling for Marlin and Dorado. No one had hooked one so far that day on the other boats but there was lots of time left. We waited and when there was about 2 hours left my wifeasked if we could fish for other types of fish. He said, “No. We are fishing for the big ones and we were too deep to fish for red snapper and the tuna was all being done with nets.”
My grandson got sick because the swells were 3-4 meters high. I nearly got sick myself.
No tips were given to the crew and we left unhappy.

Thank You,

Captain and mate were great. Seas were 8-10 feet every 13 seconds because hurricane Delores was south of us but very fishable and hot. Raised 1 sail and 1 marlin but couldn’t get a solid hook up on either. That’s why it’s called fishing not catching. Wasn’t many fish caught that day by any boats. Viviana 30’ Perfect for 4 people maximum. Captain and crew where friendly and very knowledgeable of the local fishing. Captain stopped at the marina store for us to purchase beer and water. We brought our own food however, the marina store sells sandwiches and snacks if needed. Also, purchased the one day license at the marina store. After we departed the store we stopped on the way out of the marina to purchase live bait from local fishermen that had amble inventory in their live bait well. 5 for 200 peso’s.
Caught two stripped marlins kept one and released the second one. Great day out at sea….5 hours!

Fishing trip was awesome and the captain fished his ass off! My wife caught the only keepers which we ate at the place next to pier right there. Thanks again!!

The fishing trip was easy from start to finish! Booking it online was easy and I received an email on where to meet the Viviana crew. Our Captain David was wonderful and Roberto was amazing! The boat deck is white and it was kept clean and sparkling the whole time. We caught a lot of fish that we threw back and we caught dinner to take home! They had numerous poles in the water at all times with different lures to attract different fish. They asked us what we were hoping to catch and they planned accordingly. They were very knowledgable and helpful with the fish we caught. We purchased a half day and they provided everything they said they were going to do!
I look forward to going out again with David and Roberto on the Viviana IV!

Curt and I arrived Thursday at 6:30 and Captain Victor was all ready to go. Viviana II was clean
and organized. We took the 5 hour trip and had a good time. We trolled up and down the Pacific
near Lands End and caught 7 Bonita’s. If you go fishing at Cabo, Kiberly told us to go to the
Mall near the marina for fishing license. It cost something like $13 there, where if you
get it on the boat it costs about $19. You must have peso’s or credit card to get license there.

Great day of fishing.  We caught over 11 fish.  We saw several whales that were heading north and even saw a calf.  The boat and equipment were very good but the captain was awesome.

What a Great Trip!! I have fished in Jamaica, Bahamas , Cozumel , and now Cabo. Hands down Cabo is the best, and my choice of Vivianna was perfect. The capt. Knew what he was doing we were hunting fish rather than just fishing. My daughter caught her first Marlin and I caught one as well . Not many boats had flags flying but Viviana IV did on both our trips out last week. Thank You for a great experience !! Todd Menger , New Braunfels ,Tx

Phil, Ken and I caught 14 Spanish Mackerel the morning of Tuesday 2/24/2015, which is only one under our total limit (5 each)!

Our captain, Alberto (in blue shirt and blue hat), really made the trip that much more enjoyable with his joking around from time to time… as he did his work.  Alberto took care of taking the fish off the line and most everything else.  That way we could focus on the catching and reeling in of the fish.  First mate, Jose (in orange hat), was driving from the top deck of the boat.  Jose was fishing with us until he hooked a fish and then would hand us the rod to reel the fish in.

We were glad we went with the 30’ Viviana, which includes a restroom…

We took two fish back and had them prepared by Chef Edison at Riu Palace where we were staying (no charge)!  Some of the fish was blackened, some was baked with garlic and oils and the rest was fried with light breading.  All three ways was delicious and brought out great flavor from this white fish…

Was a little apprehensive for such a small boat, but it was only my wife and myself.  Victor was great.  He made us feel comfortable with him before we even left the docks.  Within an hour, I had hooked a 150lb striped marlin and took about 50 minutes to reel it in.  We caught a few rooster fish that we let back in, but my wife had fun reeling those in.  Victor took her to see the whales and dolphins when we saw then.  As a not-so-much fisherman, she loved that part more than fishing.  Great experiense and we plan on being on Victors boat every year when we return.  Thanks for a great trip !!!!!!!
