Captain Joseph Sanchez with Rocket City Charters provided an amazing fishing experience for my two boys(10y.o. & 13y.o.) and myself.  We fished in several places around Merritt Island and we were very successful with multiple hookups and landing some absolute monster fish.  We encountered a huge variety of fish including a 37” Bull Redfish, 24 and 25 inch Trout, Tarpin, Crevall Jack, Ladyfish, Catfish and Stingray. Totaling 17 landings and 20 hookups.  Captain Joseph’s professionalism, expertise, and respect for the water and the fish he encounters is second to none.  I highly recommend taking a trip with Rocket City Charters and Captain Joseph Sanchez!  We can’t wait to go again!

We had pretty tough conditions with steady winds above 10 mph, cold front from a storm the previous night and chance of more rain. Capt. Joseph offered a full refund because my scheduled didn’t allow much flexibility, but we went fishing as I am an experienced freshwater angler and fished in less than ideal conditions and knew what to expect. We lucked out and it didn’t rain. You can’t control the weather or make the fish bite, but Capt. Joseph did everything in his power to give me the best chance to catch fish. This was my first time saltwater fishing so there was a bit of a learning curve. We targeted Black Drum since they seemed to prefer the colder water.  Using his sonar, we looked for large schools then positioned the boat to start casting. The bite was finicky, but we managed to boat a couple nice fish and lost more than I care to admit.  The biggest was a 34-inch fish that fought harder than most of the 40”+ musky I’ve caught. I fully enjoyed the short 4-hour trip. Next time I am in the area I will book a full day trip with Capt. Joseph.  I’ve booked several charters and experienced both good and bad guides. Capt. Joseph has the right attitude and approach toward his clients. I wish him future success.

Captain Joseph Sanchez was early, friendly and ready to roll. We took off without delay and quickly made our way to the spot. We were lucky today and the the fish were hungry. Captain Joseph relayed exactly how to land the black drums he spotted in the water. We were landing them in no time. We moved to new area to try for a bigger red fish.  After landing a couple more black drum we were about to switch up to the larger tackle when something hit my line and just went. Captain Joseph knew it was a red fish. It took us around a dock post multiple times, where the Captain rapidly untangled the rod and reel from the dock post before chasing the red fish down in the boat while I reeled her in,  nearly 100 yards the other way I had cast. Captain Joseph was calm and cool and helped me land the biggest fish of my life. Spectacular.

While visiting FL from Maine, we booked Capt Joseph for a 4 hours charter in the morning based on the excellent reviews and great website. A few days before he called to let us know that the day we booked looked a bit windy but that the following day would be great weather so we rebooked. It was the perfect day- water was like glass! We caught some black drum and redfish. Capt Joseph is very knowledgeable and knew exactly where the fish would be. Would highly recommend booking with him! We certainly will when we visit again next year!
