Ron has been fishing from the shoreline for Peacock Bass since 1992 in South Florida. Over that time, he has developed over 50 spots in Fort Lauderdale. Jake, a college student, started this business in 2021. He is passionate about fishing and hopes to continue this for many years. Jake has worked with IGFA to produce a video series on catching Peacock Bass in South Florida. He constantly finds new spots to fish at, which we are delighted to take our clients to. We love fishing with anglers of all ages. Our youngest client so far has been 4 years old, and our oldest have been over 80 years old.

4 Hr Trip – Guaranteed Peacock Bass • 2 adultsMy 13 year old son and I had a tremendous bank fishing adventure with Jake. i auppose the headlibe is that we caught 20+ fish between us, mostly peacock bass. My son landed a beutiful 3.5 pounder. I caught the “Fishing with Jake” grand slam of Peacock, Large Mouth, Snakehead, Cichlid. From a pure catchijg rate, it was a highly productive 4 hour adventure. It was great. But, for me, the true highlight of the day was how much my son learned. He has gotten interested in fishing throigh his friends. But he lacked experience and wanted to improve his basic fishing fundamentals: casting, hook setting, etc. Jake is a great teacher. Patient. Encouraging. Effective. And my son emerged from the excursion with not only some nice photos but with skills he can take with him for his own bank fishing adventures in the future.

4 Hr Trip – Guaranteed Peacock Bass • 4 adultsVery nice afternoon trip for the four of us. Owner picked us up at the bait shop in his truck. You purchase your own shiners for bait, guide provides a cooler with aeration for the minnows. Tackle was hooks, and spinning rods provided for you by the guide. Drove us to several spots and shore fished, free-lining shiners. Caught 30+ in 4 hour trip, I’d guess. Mix of Peacock Bass, Largemouth, and a few Mayan Cichlids. Guide was helpful and patient with those not as experienced. Would recommend for most people. Easy, low-stress outing to get outside on vacation, and catch some fish.

Fishing and Iguana hunt
2hr Peacock Bass & 2hr Iguana Hunt • 3 adultsCrew were straight forward and responded quickly. They meet you at the bait shop where you buy your minnows. they recommend us get 5 dozen which seems like a lot but we used them. Fishing takes place in neighborhood ponds between houses and subdivisions. We averaged about 5 fish per person per pond. Everywhere we went we caught fish. Mostly Peacock, (which averaged 1-2 pounds with the largest pushing 4lbs) but a few of everything from snake heads to gar. The iguana hunts were fantastic! I cant tell you how many we took each day, we lost count but it had to be 20-30 each.

Everything was great, the fishing, the help received if needed, the dedication to make sure we do catch something (as we didnt have much experience). I would recommand to anyone. We had an amazing time, 100% would do it again. Ronald is a sweetheart and very interesting guy, adds up to the experience!

4 Hr Trip – Guaranteed Peacock Bass • 2 adultsMy wife and I fished with Ron today! Our goal was to catch Peacock Bass. Catch them we did! Ron was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell he takes a lot of professional pride in giving his customers a lasting fishing memory. My wife and I caught multiple Peacock Bass along with Florida Bass and even had a blow up from a snake head. What's biting with Fishing with Jake Peacock Bass in Fort Lauderdale
Temperatures usually start to cool by the end of the month, inviting a greater number of surface fish. Sailfish might start showing up, with Kingifsh still being active over the reefs. Tarpon is great inshore.

Client said, "Best fishing trip ever"

The weather was perfect. She booked a four-hour peacock bass fishing charter in Fort Lauderdale with Fishing With Jake. We fish from 10 AM until 2 PM, and once the bait hits the water at the first spot, the fishing never slows down. I was a little worried when we arrived at the first spot because I saw a lot of weeds, and I wasn't sure how well my client would be able to cast past them. To my pleasant surprise, she cast just like a pro, and she was rewarded with every single cast with a stud Peacock Bass. In four hours, she caught over 30 fish ranging from 2 1/2 pounds to over 5 pounds.
After we transferred all the pictures at the end of the trip and she told me that it was her best fishing trip that she's ever been on. There's nothing that I enjoy more than helping someone have an awesome experience.

peacock Fishing is hot

Fishing With Jake has been incredibly busy over the last month and the reason why is because the peacocks are going crazy. Most of our 2 hour trips are averaging close to 10 fish per person per hour. The biggest fish that we have seen so far this summer has been about 6 pounds. Most of the big boys typically start coming out and bedding around August/ September so book now if you want to catch some big peacock bass in Florida.

Trying to catch peacocks in Snakehead ke

Recently, while fishing for peacocks at some of our locations, we got lucky enough to catch some Bullseye Snakeheads that have been showing their ugly faces. They are a lot of fun to catch because they are really powerful. The average size of each snakehead that we've been catching is between 3 and 6 pounds.
