- Background
- I'm Capt. Mike, a native Floridian born and raised in Key Largo. My father was a commercial fisherman, and so was I for 30 years. When I wasn't in school or pulling traps as a kid, I was spending all my time on my 13' Jon Boat, catching Tarpon, Snook, and Mangrove Snapper. Now I own a 2200 Tournament Edition Pathfinder, and I want to share my lifetime of knowledge and skills with people who are as passionate about fishing as I am.
- Techniques
- One of our specialties is nearshore fishing in the waters of Port Canaveral. We target Tripletail and cobia when they are here. We usually use spinning gear for catching them. We also target Snook, Redfish, Black Drum, flounder and sheepshead. Sometimes we also target tarpon. We catch Bluefish, Jack crevalles,Spanish mackerel, Stingrays, and Sharks Depending on the season. If it is too windy or the inshore bite is better we also fish in the Indian and banana rivers for people who are more into site fishing or like to fish with light tackle. And if the weather is good enough sometimes we will run up to 15 or 20 miles offshore to catch king fish sail fish snappers etc.
