Owner/Operator Eric Risen has been fishing the waters around Southern California for over two decades. He grew up fishing San Diego Bay as well as the inshore and offshore waters beyond. During this time, he honed his skills on a variety of local species. After graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in Environmental Studies, he spent time working for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife before traveling the West Coast as a deckhand aboard the Fishing Yacht 'Venture More'. He recently decided to follow his passion and become a full-time fishing guide in his hometown, San Diego. You will find Captain Eric knowledgeable, social, enthusiatic, and eager to give you a great fishing experience!

4 Hour Trip — Bay Fishing • 2 adults • 1 childThis excursion was an early birthday present for my 12 year old who has recently taken up fishing…. both of us had a blast and caught plenty of fish. Captain Eric was extremely knowledgeable regarding anything fishing! if we weren’t getting bites in one area, he would quickly move to another spot where we ended up getting plenty of action! Captain Eric made every effort to make sure we had a good time and got the most out of our four hour excursion. We will absolutely book another trip soon 😁

4 Hour Trip — Bay Fishing • 4 adults • 2 childrenCaught a ton of fish and was able to bring home Corvina which is great. Would definitely recommend. Perfect routes - no big waves and nothing crowded. Had a great time. Good for all age groups too. Caught corvina, spotted bay bass, sand bass, needlefish, halibut, and bonefish. Would do this one again.

The fish weren’t biting much but Eric did all that he could to give us opportunities. if a spot seemed cold, he would move to another one. he was great with my 16 year old daughter, and kept her engaged in fishing all morning. the day could have been a bummer, but but Eric definitely did all he could to make it enjoyable. my daughter and i had a great time, and i give Eric alot of the credit. He was a 5 star captain on a 3 star day.

4 Hour Trip — Bay Fishing • 2 adultsGoing out with a storm clearing off just before we departed, we expected the fishing to be disappointing. Captain Eric used his extensive knowledge of the area to find the fish. we ended up catching sand bass, halibut, rock bass, bonefish, sand bass, and corvina. An awesome day under difficult conditions, thanks to Captain Eric’s knowledge and persistence. Would go again!

Fishing has been excellent the last 2 weeks! The Spotted Bay Bass has been wide open in the mornings with lots of smaller Halibut and good sized Corvina mixed in. We’ve also been catching more Leopard Sharks recently which has been a lot of fun for out clients. Now is PRIME TIME for fishing on San Diego Bay!

Good Fishing on San Diego Bay!

Fishing has really picked up on San Diego Bay the last few weeks. Water temps are in the low 70’s and we have been getting into a wide variety of species lately. Spotted Bay Bass, Halibut, Corvina, Bonefish, Yellowfin Croaker, and assorted Sharks and Rays have made up a bulk pf the catch. Come on out and get in on the action!

Excellent Fishing on San Diego Bay!

Fishing has been excellent on San Diego Bay recently! The weather has been ideal and we have been getting the rods bent on a variety of species. Lots of Spotted Bay Bass as usual. We have also been running into plenty of Bonefish, Halibut, Yellowfin Croaker, and small Barracuda to keep things interesting. Leopard Sharks and Bat Rays have been keeping us busy on the cut bait side of things. The next few months are PRIME TIME for fishing on San Diego Bay
