Background: I am a native of south Florida and an Army veteran. I Grew up fishing in south Florida with my father and grand father. I grew up near the water so fishing after school was a daily event. I have been making my living fishing for the past 15 years and before that as a marine mechanic. I love taking people fishing, whether beginner or old salt I have a blast.
Techniques: Flying live baits from a kite or trolling ballyhoo and artificial lures are the primary techniques I employ. I do like to drop a shark bait while drifting and catching monster fish. Bottom fishing for grouper and snapper is a great way to put some filets on the grill.

its august and the big blacken tunas are still around. normally they move on in June. there are some big kings coming over the side and a sailfish thrown into the mix. Mahi Mahi season is upon us and there are plenty around right now.

The Sailfish are here and we are catching them. All last week we were having multiple shots at sailfish. I prefer to tag and release these fish to fight again another day. Some people like to kill them and eat them. I have eaten them and can tell you they are not that good. I would rather eat a hot dog. Mixed in with the sailfish are wahoo, tuna, dolphin and kingfish. If you can, Book a 6hr trip for a better shot at catching a trophy

summertime brings calm seas and plenty of dolphin /mahi. weediness form up in the Gulf Stream and the baitfish follow the weeds and then the dolphin follow the bait. book a 5 hour trip and have plenty of time to cash in on the summertime fishing.

We had a nice day out on the boat with Captain Tom. Although we didn’t get a lot of bites, we did manage to pull in a big blackfin tuna and two kingfish, one large and one medium. We went out, caught some live bait right off the bat. 20 minutes after getting lines dropped down had a big bite but bit passed the leader before we could react. It took some time but we got on some fish. Ended up catching a Barracuda, Mahi-Mahi and 2 King Fish. I definitely plan on booking again with Captain Tom and recommending him to friends that want to go on a charter. Thanks Captain Tom!

My 14 year old son really wanted to catch a shark and also a fish that we could cook. With fishing you can do your best and sometimes just not catch anything. Having an experienced Captain will give you the best chance at catching. Captain Tom was able to have him catch both !
