I learned to fly fish in college and was quickly bit by the bug and never looked back. As my obsession (and rod collection) grew, I decided to make the move from Maryland to WNC in pursuit of some of the best fishing and living on the east coast. My passion for the outdoors and Trout fishing paved a natural path to becoming a guide and opening an outfitter.

6 Hour Trip – Wading on May 5, 2026 • 2 adults
Wanted a true mountain fishing experience, Captain Blayney made that happen. We had a slow start, but Captain had a game plan, and we found some fish. Landed first trout on fly. Captain Blayney worked hard to put us on fish the rest of the day. Very Knowledgeable guide. I would definitely recommend Captain Blayney.

Could not have ask for a more ideal day. Conditions and Captain Blaney were spot on . Very knowledgeable to the sport/art and area . Captain Blaney’s passion , persistence and positive attitude make for a good trip! We were able to catch a slam including a nice rainbow “pole benda” 8 lbs 24” . I recommend Ash Anglers and Captain Blaney to anyone looking to catch fish in the area. FISH ON !

Great trip & lots of fish
6 Hour Trip – Wading on March 12, 2025 • 1 adult
Did a 6 hour trip and my first experience euro nymphing with Nathan. Visited some really good spots and caught around 40 trout. Great personality, great tips and informative. Would definitely recommend.
