We had a good time just drank little to much the night before. They definitely know how to catch the fish! If you never caught a lot of fish this is the place to go!

The fishing trip was good.
Clifford picked us up at the specified time and place on HIS schedule.

We caught many fish (so that was great) but I do have 2 complaints.

One would be that it was a 9am pickup. Most full day fishing trips pick up earlier than this - either 7am or 8am at the latest.

My other complaint was that he changed my day from Monday Nov 16 at the very last minute. (He said he double booked…) I had to rearrange my entire week schedule to accommodate him. If you or he cannot coordinate his schedule, perhaps you should address the situation.

The price was good for what we got so I have no complaints. there.

A few things:
1. Our captain treated us like we were 4 year olds that didn’t know anything about fishing even though we’ve been fishing for many years and told him that. We were constantly scolded for reeling or trying to set a hook when he didn’t think the time was right. Missed a few good ones because of that. He wouldn’t even let me bait my own hook when he was busy doing something else so I just had to sit and wait. Several times I pulled up just a skeleton of my bait left and he told me to re-cast it, which I did and which promptly went flying off. At which point I was scolded for losing my bait. Wtf?!

2. Everything we did was what he wanted to do. Where we fished and for how long we fished for in that area, even if we were happy in that area, when he decided to go to another spot, it was “reel in, we’re moving”.  He decided which fish we kept and didn’t keep, even if they were legally big enough.

3. He constantly was reminding us that he wasn’t making any money off of us because we were only doing a half day trip and that we were lucky to be going to the spots he was taking us.

4. We caught two nice sized barracuda each about 3 feet long. In fact that was the first fist we caught and he assured us that “lunch was secured, we could relax and leisurely fish now” which lead us to believe that we’d get to keep them. He told us how he’d filet them for us. As the day passed, he went from how he’d filet them for us to how he’d filet half of it and keep half of it. By the end of the trip he was telling us how poisonous the barracuda was and that he would give it to the locals who would throw pieces of it to the fire ants and only if the fire ants ate it would they eat it because then they’d know it wasn’t poisonous. We later asked some locals how much barracuda sold for and it was $8 a pound and that it was tasty but not poisonous this time of year. Hope our captain was happy with that nice extra tip he got. Two 8lb fish at $8.00/lb is a nice tip.

4. Our captain decided to fish himself while we were trying to fish. The boat was small and we only fished off the back of it which was hardly big enough for two people and you throw a third line in, lines are going to get tangled, which sure enough, they did, right as we both caught two nice size fish.  So when you cram three adults into the back of a boat (with nowhere to sit, might I add) it gets a little frustrating when trying to cast, especially when you keep getting yelled at for not casting in exactly the right spot that he’s telling you to cast in to. I’m good at casting but it’s a little difficult when your captain won’t move so you can actually get a range of movement with your rod. And casting with my left hand which I’m not used to didn’t help either…

All in all, we weren’t impressed at all.  Our captain kept our biggest fish, informed us that he wasn’t making any money off of us (maybe that’s why he took our biggest two fish…? hmmm…) Regardless, we tipped him well, even though he was the only one on the boat with us. Normally the crew is the one that gets tipped, not the captain.

So unless you’re planning on doing on of his full day trips, which I can’t speak for since I haven’t done one, I wouldn’t recommend Clifford at all.

We were picked up on our pier on time. We had to go get bait. This Captain and Mate are an excellent. Netting bait in no time! We asked to go fish to catch many smaller fish. Bottom fishing was what we wanted. We caught about 40 fish. Grouper, Trigger, Gar, Yellow tails..We kept some and released some. We had a choice to fish longer or snorkel and catch lobster then they cooked some of our fish for lunch. It was a great day. We took two more meals worth of fish back to the resort and they cooked it for two more meals for us. Clifford and Manwel are a great team and offer a great time. Others on the island raved about Clifford’s ability to take people out and find the fish! He even offered to stay out longer to try to catch bigger fish. I was so tired from reeling in so many fish we chose to go have a few cold ones while Manwell cooked our lunch! Perfect day! Then they took us back to our resort with a bag full of clean fish and big stories and smiles! Look no further BOOK this trip!!! These two are there to please you and you choose how your trip details work out. Defiantly there for you to have a great experience!!

We had a great trip with Clifford and Manny aboard the Seakarus. The thing that I really liked about this trip is that Clifford and Manny allowed us to tailor the trip we wanted, and to do the type of fishing we were interested in.
Ours trip was a basic hardcore, outer reef fishing trip. This required an extensive boat ride up the coast to reach an area where we could get outside the barrier reef. Many captains are reluctant to spend the required time and fuel to reach these areas. Clifford had no problem with doing this for us. It was amazing that he was able to put us on a ledge of the reef in 250’ of water without the aid of any electronics. As soon as we dropped our lines to the bottom, we had fish on.

One word of advise. If you want to be successful catching these fish, you will need to listen to the
instruction that Clifford gives you. I am a fairly experienced angler, but I am not accustomed to fishing in 250’+ water. It is a totally different technique setting the hook then I have experience with. The last thing you want to hear from Clifford is “check your bait” ,especially when fishing that deep. It’s a lot of reeling to get back to the top.

Bottom line: We caught 18 fish total that included 9 different species including grouper, snapper and barracuda. Couldn’t have been a better trip.

We were so impressed with Clifford and Manny that we booked an incredible snorkeling, lobster hunt, and beach BBQ with them later in the week.

First I want to say thanks to Fishingbooker for hooking me up. It was great!. Clifford Definately know how and where to fish. Caught alot of 3 # Red Snapper and had a great dinner that night. Also caught some gar and cuda.
I only went on a 4 hr trip but it was worth every penny spent. I highly reccomment Seakarus as a top choice fishing. 1 thing, It’s for seaworthy fisherman mainly cause we are in the Ocean and not bay fishing.
