    Awesome Guide, Awesome Experience

    4 Hour Trip – Salmon6 adults1 child

Cannot recommend Cable enough for booking a fishing charter out of Ketchikan. From the initial booking to the last minute of stepping off his boat, it was one of the easiest and best experiences with a fishing guide we’ve ever had. Very responsive in his initial communications all the way up until we got off the ship and on to the boat. An amazing guide that put us on our limit of fish in only 4 hours for 6 people. Caught so many we had to release some. Will be back next year, and we’ll be booking him well in advance to make sure we lock him in. If he’s available, book him. He was born and raised in Ketchikan and knows everything about every part of the water. Support local and support small business!!

What's biting with Campbells Fishing Charters in Ketchikan

September is one of the best months for Silver Salmon in Ketchikan, and there are still plenty of Kings around, too. It's also the tail end of Halibut high season, making it a great time to visit.

Ketchikan Fishing Report: Mountain Point

Jun 8, 2026 • Ketchikan
Ketchikan Fishing Report: Opening Day Kings at Mountain Point Welcome to our latest Ketchikan fishing report. Today, June 8, 2026, marks the official opener for the Mountain Point Terminal Harvest Area, and we got an early start on the water this morning to kick off the season. Despite the chilly, rainy, and misty June weather—and plenty of boat company out there—heading out at first light paid off on the 4 C’s. Sarah and I managed to land two nice local Kings before heading back to the dock early. One was a beautiful, bright, ocean-fresh fish that is incredibly fat (featured in our main photo). The other was a bit darker colored, but still packed with oil and fat, which is going to make for some incredible smoked salmon later this week. Mountain Point Regulations & Boundaries (June 8 – June 14) For anyone planning to head out this week, the Mountain Point, George Inlet, and Carroll Inlet waters are officially open for king salmon retention from today, June 8th, through June 14th under Emergency Order #26-4029. These are surplus hatchery-produced fish originating from the Whitman Lake and Deer Mountain facilities, as well as the Carroll Inlet remote release. Projected returns to these facilities exceed broodstock needs, making a great surplus available for sport anglers. Important Boundary Reminder: Be sure to watch your lines. The salt waters just outside of the specific terminal harvest lines remain closed to King retention until June 15th for the Mountain Point section. If you are moving between multiple areas, make sure you don’t have a King in your possession while actively fishing in a closed zone. Book a Trip with Campbell Fishing Charters

Three Generations Beat the Weather for a

May 21, 2026 • Ketchikan
The 2026 season is officially underway, and Southeast Alaska made sure to give us a classic, rainy Ketchikan welcome for our very first charter of the year on May 21st! We had an incredible crew on board for a truly special trip—three generations of family fishing together, including a grandfather, father, and an awesome 7-year-old angler who showed us how it’s done. Even with the gray skies and a bit of wind, this crew didn’t skip a beat. We definitely had to work for them, but we managed to find the fish and safely released 16 different Rockfish using our conservation release device! To cap off a perfect day, we even got some spectacular eagle action right by the boat to finish the trip in true Alaskan style. Huge thanks to this awesome family for kicking off our season with the best energy.

The Kings are Here! Epic Battle & First

Jun 15, 2025 • Ketchikan
First King Salmon Success in Ketchikan! Nothing beats the thrill of a first-time catch, especially when it’s an absolute beauty of a King Salmon right here in Ketchikan! We recently took Abby out on the water for a trip she won't soon forget. It was an incredible day, and she handled the rod like an absolute pro, fighting a strong, hard-running King. The tension was high, but we got it safely in the net and landed a prize—a bright, icy-fresh Alaska King Salmon! The action on the boat was top-tier: The Battle: Abby hooked into a powerful fish that put up a classic King Salmon fight. The Net: Timing is everything with these big fish, and nailing the net job sealed the victory. The Payoff: The pure joy of holding up a beautiful, fresh-run Alaska King! Whether you are a seasoned angler or looking to land your very first big fish, the boat is dialed in, the gear is ready, and the local knowledge is locked down to make it happen. May is just the start of the action—the season is officially heating up and the fish are here! Ready to get out on the water and make some memories of your own? Check our calendar right here on FishBooker to view open availability and secure your dates. The salmon are running—let’s go fishing!

Jul 23, 2024 • Ketchikan
Ketchikan, Alaska Fishing Report July Update: Slow Start, but Salmon are Quickly Moving In The fishing season in Ketchikan, Alaska, kicked off with a slow start this July, but things are rapidly picking up as the salmon make their way into our waters. Early in the month, anglers experienced sporadic bites and fewer catches, a typical lull that tested our patience. However, as the days progressed, we began to see a significant increase in activity. Schools of Pink Salmon, Coho, and Chum Salmon are now migrating in greater numbers, revitalizing the fishing grounds and boosting both morale and success rates among fishermen.
