I grew up on Hudson Beach and have been fishing these waters my entire life, spending countless hours learning the local tides and fish patterns. I got my first jon boat at just 12 years old and have been on the water ever since. When I'm not running charters, I enjoy hunting and checking out new fishing spots to stay dialed in year-round.

    Can’t say enough good things about Capt. Matt. He was very responsive during the booking. No hassle whatsoever. Capt. Matt provided all the bait and equipment needed. He was very knowledgeable about places and techniques to catch fish. He was very patient with my two young sons. We caught enough speckled trout to eat for dinner. We got up close to dolphins, saw a bull shark, and several rays. Overall a great trip that was well worth it! Highly recommend.

    Great trip

    6 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) • 4 adults

    Captain Matt got us on fish on a day with tough conditions. We kept enough for a few meals and released the rest. We were worried the trip would be canceled as we have had other charters do so on a day like this, but he worked very hard and got us to where we needed to be. Highly recommend this charter!

    Perfect fishing with my sons

    4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) • 3 adults • 1 child

    Captain Matthew was great!! Not only had he a great experience and knowledge but also he was so kind with my sons, helping with everything. We catch all the fishes we were looking for. Captain looked for the best spots to catch them, he knows where to find them. Definitely ill repeat with him!!!

    A great Morning

    4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) • 5 adults

    My buddy and I hired Captain Matt to take my sons and his father out for the morning and it did not disappoint. We had a great time and caught a good amount of fish. Captain Matt was knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend Blackwater Charters.

    HOT but got dinner!

    6 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) • 4 adults

    Captain Matthew was great! we were very hot so only did 6hrs but tried to get u on fish the whoe time. Caught some nice keeper reds for dnner tonight and some trout we put back. He is very patient andhad great conversation. Highly recommend!
