    Awesome day of fishing.

    5 Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing • 2 adults

    Can’t say enough about Captain Josh and the Catch My Drift. Boat was clean and had everything we needed. Cap. Josh had us out on the fish super quick and before we knew it fish were filling the boat. We limited out on Halibut and Springs before heading in and left with bags full of beautiful filets. If you are looking for an awesome day on the water you can’t go wrong booking with Catch My Drift!!

    Great fishing trip!

    5 Hour Trip – Salmon • 4 adults

    Josh was awesome. Very experienced and personable. Great boat and gear. Was a cold and windy morning, and his enclosed cabin was nice and warm. We land lots of chinook, coho and some super tasty rockfish. Would 100% recommend Josh to anyone.

    Josh was super friendly, nice and a awesome captain! he was trying his best to get us the fish that we wanted. In the end it was a super awesome fishing trip with him! Do charter him if you are around the area!

    We had an absolutely amazing day out on the water with Catch My Drift! Our guide, Josh, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He knew exactly where to take us for the best chances, and it paid off—we caught plenty of fish and had a blast doing it. Josh made the whole experience easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a first-timer, he’s got the patience and skill to make your trip unforgettable. The boat was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. If you're looking for a fun, productive day of fishing with a top-notch guide, we highly recommend Catch My Drift. Huge thanks to Josh for making it a trip to remember—we’ll definitely be back!

    Unforgettable Day with Catch My Drift

    10 Hour Trip – Salmon

    If you’re looking for a killer fishing trip in Ucluelet, Catch My Drift is the way to go. Captain Josh is a pro – super knowledgeable, passionate about fishing, and makes the whole experience a blast. He knows these waters inside and out, and you can tell he loves what he does. Josh made sure we were all set on the safety side of things, but once that was covered, it was all fun and fishing. The guy’s got a great sense of humour, and we were laughing the entire day. Plus, the music was on point – Josh played great tunes and even let us throw on our own playlists. The fishing was awesome. Josh helped us out when we were struggling with the bigger fish and made sure we were doing everything right to land them. The day flew by, and we didn’t want it to end. If you’re in Ucluelet, don’t miss out on Catch My Drift. Josh is the man, and I’ll definitely be back for round two.

What's biting with Catch My Drift – Ucluelet Trips in Ucluelet

Salmon and Halibut fishing are still strong, both offshore and in Barkley Sound. You're likely to catch Lingcod and Sockeye on the side. Drop a few crab traps and come home with a full cooler!

Size limit has been increased on halibut this year from 102cm last year to 112cm this year, which is great news. Lots of people come and search for these fish and we're happy to bring you to them.It's nice to be able to catch these and retain them since buying them in the store is up to $50/lb, and most of our catch is in the 30lb range, so this makes for a great bang for your buck.

Winter Chinook fishing has been has been super productive in the Broken Group allowing 2 chinook daily. With lingcod fishing just around the corner we expect really good fishing early season. Prawn and crab has been extremely successful.

Great Salmon Fishing

There's been plenty of salmon around all winter with returns to be expected higher than normal. You're allowed 2/day and have been catching this on a regular basis with no problems using downrigging gear and mooching rods, trolling spoons and herring.

Halibut & Lingcod Opening

Lingcod and halibut have just opened and has been a great fishing experience and catching regularly. Using a lot of bottom baits and paddle tails with our durable heavy duty bottom rods. Although the halibut size limit has decreased to 102cm, it hasn't been hard to find them in this slot category. We've been having great success every time we went out. Lots of prawns and crabs still around because commercial quota hasn't opened up yet, expect good results with both.
