We had a blast on our half day deep sea fishing trip.  Our boat was upgraded to the larger mom’s therapy boat, which was a nice surprise.  The crew was very friendly, easy to understand and made sure that we were having fun.  Mik was upfront with us about our expectations and what we would like to do on our 4 hr trip. 

We tried to have a little time to do some swimming at the end of our trip, which was likely a mistake on our part.  To do the deep sea fishing it takes a fair bit of time to travel out to the FAD so we did not end up with as much time to fish as some people wanted.  If I were to do it again, I would not try to incorporate any swimming and would consider a 6 or 8 hr trip.  That being said we still had a great time!

We had a last minute booking so we weren’t sure we’d get an available charter, but Therapy Charters was quick to communicate (even though it was Sunday) and work with us to find a time that worked out.  We had a wonderful time fishing and an awesome experience swimming with turtles and checking out the shipwrecks nearby.  But not only that, we had our two year old with us.  Anyone with a toddler knows that they are pure chaos, but our crew was patient, kind, and treated our son like their own.  They filled him with snacks, kept him safe, and made sure he had fun toddler-oriented experiences like “steering” the boat or feeding cookies to the fish.  We couldn’t have been happier.  To top it off we were lucky enough to catch a barracuda and they cooked it up right on the boat while we swam. It doesn’t get fresher than that!  They even gave us a lift back to the hotel to avoid us paying for a cab.

Had a fantastic time!  We lost a ‘really’ big one, likely a Wahoo, near the start of the trip, but it was no fault of anybody.  Unfortunately, the fish just happened to pop loose (....darn). The team worked very hard and looked to give us a great trip the whole time.  Patrick and Ashley are very helpful and knowledge.  We had a few ‘just misses’ during the day, but Patrick and Ashley stuck it out into ‘overtime’ in order to land a perfect size Barricuda for my 11 year old son, who told me it was ‘a lot of work reeling it in’.  Patrick and Ashley were very friendly and a pleasure to fish with.  They went out of their way to make a great day for my son (and me : ) ).  Parrick cleaned the fish for us and we will be enjoying it soon!  We were well fed and had drinks available to stay hydrated.  The boat was great and equipment too.  Me and my son would highly recommend.  Thanks Therapy Charters, great trip!

We had so much fun on this trip! Ok, so we didn’t really catch any fish. But that did not ruin our experience! My kids (teens) are adopted and their bio family is Bajan, so we took this trip to Barbados for them. They were absolutely thrilled to spend 3 hours on a boat with two very nice and very cool Bajan guys. They gave up on fishing pretty quickly and all they wanted was to sit on the boat and listen to fishing stories and the history of Barbados. Patrick and Ashley really delivered on this! I think my older son nearly died of happiness when Patrick told him
he was a smart kid. He’ll be talking about that for a long time.

Long story short; we didn’t catch fish but we had a trip that made the whole family happy. The kids were impressed and excited (hard to do!), and the adults got to relax with rum, beer, and excellent guides to the Barbados coast.

4 of us took this trip on 14th January 2023. Bit of a rocky start, taxi driver was late picking us up, he slept late but we got to the dock and were greeted by the lovely Lisa who had kindly upgraded our boat to Moms Therapy for free. After 10 mins or so we were on our way with Captain Ashley and 1st mate Patrick. These guys are awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable and up for a laugh. We trawled for a bit but had no luck so switched to use hand rods and we caught Amber Jack and Tuna. This was cooked for us onboard with some spices and tasted delicious 😋. Whilst trawling Patrick was giving us some local history and information on great places to see and good places to eat.  Ashley and Patrick also took us to the shipwrecks to see the fish and swim with the turtles, a most unexpected but welcome extra. Ashley also bought some delicious homemade coconut bread with him. I would not hesitate in booking again with this company especially if we had Ashley and Patrick on-board.
