I have always loved fishing. I grew up in Ohio, fishing for Smallmouth Bass and Walleye. When I got older, I've spent 6 years as a U.S. Marine and fished in North Carolina and southern California. I moved to Islamorada in 1986 when my enlistment was over.

    If you’re looking for an incredible fishing charter in Islamorada, look no further than Captain Don with Fishin Mission Charters! From start to finish, the entire experience was absolutely top-notch and exceeded our expectations! One thing that really stood out was how communicative Captain Don was throughout the entire trip. He took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted to do and made sure we got the experience we were hoping for. We told him we wanted to start the day bottom fishing for grouper and snapper, then switch things up and flatline for yellowtails toward the end of the trip. And that’s EXACTLY what we got! We got into some really nice, BIG fish first thing in the morning, and the action made for an unforgettable day on the water! Captain Don had everything ready to go, including live bait and all the tackle and equipment we needed to get the job done. It was clear from the beginning that he knows these waters, knows how to find the fish, and knows exactly what he’s doing. What impressed us just as much as the fishing was Captain Don himself. He’s extremely knowledgeable, respectful, professional, and just downright GOOD at what he does. He worked hard to make sure we had a great day, and you could tell he genuinely cared about giving us the best experience possible. Even after the trip was over, the great service didn’t stop. Captain Don took the time to clean and prepare our catch perfectly, making sure everything was taken care of before we headed home. This wasn’t just another fishing trip. It was an incredible experience and a birthday I’ll never forget! From the quality of the fishing to the hospitality and attention to detail, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thank you again, Captain Don, for an AMAZING birthday fishing trip! We had an absolute blast, made some great memories, and can’t wait to get back out on the water with you.     Captain Don is a very experienced fisherman

    I would highly recommment Capt Don, very knowledgble and very experienced, we came back with a 13 Yellow tail Snapper after a day of fishing, hes awesome!. He knows all the good spots and what line and baits to use, I will be calling him next time I back to the keys.

    Captain Donald did everything in his power for my grandsons to catch fish. He is very knowledgeable been doing it for a long time he knew all the right spots, this is our second year with him and it's been great.

    Full Day Trip • 1 adult

    We went out this morning with sunshine and clouds. I asked Captain Don if we could go out for grouper before any storms came in. We went to a spot that Don fishes every now and then. On our first drop to the bottom Don’s pole bent over real quick and the next thing you knew the fish was taking a lot of drag before we lost it. We ended up catching 2 really nice sized groupers in the next 30 minutes and released one that was half an inch short. Then the thunderstorms came and that pretty much ended our day. It was still a wonderful day fishing with Captain Don. I will definitely charter with him again. You should too.

    Captain Donald was very knowledgeable, we got very large fish as soon as we got there; unfortunately my wife and daughter got sea sick and we had to return but he took me back alone to continue fishing. Thank you very much Cap.

    I took my twin grandsons they are 6 and they loved it the captain and he's mate went beyond in order for them to catch fish . It was great!!!!!

What's biting with Fishin Mission Offshore Charters in Islamorada

Cobia start to appear, sometimes in big schools. The mullet migration brings Sailfish close to the shore, along with the last of the Blackfin Tuna. This is also a great time for Trout and Redfish in the shallows.
