- Background
- I grew up in Erie on the water. Went to school here and worked 43 years for a local company that makes heavy duty forging equipment. Spent the last 20 years traveling the world installing and working on machines. I went fishing every chance I got when I was home. I was able to retire in 2024 and with the support of family and friends started my path to become a charter captain. In 2025 I obtained my Captains license . With my co-captain Brian Franklin we started chartering in the summer of 2025. My dad was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. So naturally I followed in his footsteps. I want to share the lessons learned from fishing with other Captain's, friends and family. Lake Erie has a lot to offer and would like others to enjoy it as I have for many years. The name Mapalad is Filipino and means blessed or fortunate which I have been in life. Let's go fishing!

- We troll for walleye.Our spread consists of Okuma rods and reels,Cisco electric planer boards, Cannon electric down riggers with temperature - speed probe, snap weights, leadcore and dipsy divers. And you might even catch a Steelhead or Lake Trout depending on the season.
