- Captain Justin has spent most of his life on the water. From a young age he grew up fishing on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. Once he graduated from high school, he began commercial fishing out of Morehead City until he joined the United State Marine Corps. During his time in the USMC, Captain Justin became a Chief Coxswain. While stationed in Camp Pendleton, California, Captain Justin was also able to pursue his passion of being on the water. He spent his free time mating on charter boats out of Ocean Side Harbor in California. After the USMC, Captain Justin began tournament King Mackerel fishing on the Southern Kingfish Association Trail. Captain Justin, along with his wife and their two sons, have consistently placed in the Top 5 of this competitive circuit.

Justin was fantastic. He was professional, courteous and very personable. We learned a ton from him on our half day trip as he is very skilled. We couldn’t recommend him more and we will definitely be booking a trip with him when we return to the area. We stayed in Emerald Isle, which was a short ~30min drive to the dock in Atlantic Beach.

Great trip. Didn’t troll with better chances on bottom. 129 lbs of fish! plus LOTS of sharks. Justin works HARD to put you on fish. Like part of the family! He targets what he knows is biting. Our 3 teens are ready to go back NOW! Caught a little bit of everything! SOOOO glad we did the 3/4 day trip (listed as full day on fishingbooker site). Pay the extra so you can get 30 miles out to the quality fish. We will be back!

This was first time any of us had gone on a deep sea trip. When I first contacted Captain Justin I told him I really wanted my 7yr old son to catch a bunch of fish and possibly have a shot at catching a shark. Captain Justin delivered far more than I could have ever asked. We limited out on Vermillion, caught about 20 trigger fish, we caught Grunts, Black Sea bass, ring tails and 4 sharks about 3ft long. In all we probably caught 100 fish. after we had caught a boatload of fish, Captain Justin took us out to a honey hole and we started catching Amber Jacks. We probably hooked up with 10 and ended up catching 5. They were all between 25 - 60 lbs.
Captain Justin was incredible the entire day. He was incredible with my 7yr old, answering all the questions and making him feel like his First Mate. Captain Just is an extremely talented guide.
I can’t thank you enough for this experience. We’ll will definitely be making this a new tradition. See you next year Captain Justin! And don’t worry, I won’t bring any bananas next year.
