- I became a captain because I realized that an 8-hour job is not for me. Colombia is now one of the most secure countries in Latín America, and tourism in Medellin has grown more than 400% in the past 5 years. I really like sportfishing because it relaxes me, helps me feel connected to nature, and makes me happy. I have been angling for over 10 years, ever since I discovered freshwater fishing with artificial lures. My favorite species is Peacock Bass because when they are hooked, they fight hard for their life, and will do anything to escape your line.
