    Shark Fishing Trip 2026

    4 Hour Trip – Nearshore - 11:30 AM • 3 adults

    We booked a shark fishing trip. We got a couple of bites, but no big catch on this trip. But anyone that truly fishes knows you can’t always get the big catch, and some days you may not get any bites at all thats just part of it. Captain Chris however did try his absolute best to make things happen, and we truly thank him for that. I would definitely recommend Fins and Family Fishing. We had fun, and laughed a lot, and even though we didn’t catch “The Shark” I plan to book with this charter again in the future. #ROLL TIDE

    Awesome Experience

    3 Hour Trip – Inshore • 4 adults • 2 children

    We had a great time! The water was a little choppier than we had anticipated and with 2 younger boys we decided to stay closer. The captain refunded us the difference. He was very knowledgeable and had a fun personality. 3 out of the 4 of us were able to catch a fish, even if they were too big to keep.

    Awesome fishing trip

    4 Hour Trip – Nearshore • 5 adults • 1 child

    This was our first time going on a fishing expedition. It was a fun experience especially for the grandkids. We didn’t bring home the fish to cook but Chris did try. Fish were snipping at the bait but nothing big. We all Caught something to at least get a picture. It was more about fun and family time for us. I’m glad we got to meet Chris. If you are looking for a trip he is the one to pick.

    Solid fishing trip!

    4 Hour Trip – Inshore • 2 adults

    It was a good trip we caught three keeper redfish and a nice flounder. I gave the trip 4 stars only because in my book in order to get 5 stars we would have had to limited out. It was a good time and I would recommend Fins and Family Fishing and captain Chris to anyone. The only thing you should know before you go is if you prefer to fish a baitcaster reel you better bring it with (which I did) otherwise you'll be fishing with spinning reels.

    Had an awesome time with the family. Captain was helpful with the kids fishing and great to talk too. Would recommend this trip to anyone.

What's biting with Fins and Family Fishing in Orange Beach

While peak season may be over, the weather is only getting better here. No more showers mean the waters are usually calm and the bite is excellent, with Redfish testing your line inshore, and Marlin offshore.

Redfish are heating up!

We've had a windy couple of weeks, but finally got a few breaks leading to some great fishing! The water temps continue to move up (even though the air has been cool) and the redfish are getting much more active. We have still seen a few sheepshead, but are definitely seeing the transition with more redfish and soon to be the transition into more summer species.

The Big Uglies Are Getting Hungry!

The weather is warming up and the black drum are getting more aggressive! Still seeing a strong inshore bite on Sheepshead and also seeing more redfish and Black drum appearing. We expect this to continue through the spring as the water continues to warm up.

Winter Fishing Update

Feb 17, 2026 • Orange Beach
As we head into spring, we're seeing the tail end of our winter fishing. The sheepshead bite is the strongest and we're having several productive trips with lots of keepers. The redfish are around, though the keepers are being a bit pickier on what they bite. Seeing some good bites off fiddler crabs in addition to shrimp.
