- Capt. Mateo It all started when I picked up a rod at 3 years old and caught my first snapper, on a dock in the Florida Keys. I knew right then and there that I was born for this. I started catching snook and tarpon at age 5 and my passion for fishing grows more and more everyday. Nothing makes me happier than teaching the next generation of anglers. Get off your screen.
