Half Day Trip – Backcountry (AM) • 3 adults • 1 childI took my 13 year old Nephew and Brothrr in Law on a back country trip and was very happy with Captain Travis! He was very patient with my Nephew and took his time to provide instruction to him and help him if needed throughout our trip. Upon arriving to our first spot it was game on! My Nephew hooked into a nice Black Drum and then to follow a nice Red Fish! Unfortunately the tax man (sharks) came and collected those fish, however, my Nephew was having the time of his life! we caught several other species of fish and overall had a very memorable trip! I would highly recommend Captain Travis and I would definitely fish with him again!
Response from CaptainThank you so much Todd! It was great getting out there with you guys!

Half Day Trip – Backcountry (AM) • 2 adultsMy wife and I booked two trips with Capt. Travis, one reef fishing trip and one backcountry trip, and both exceeded every expectation. We caught an incredible variety of reef snapper, and on the backcountry trip we both landed our personal best snook. It was a fishing experience we’ll never forget. What really set Capt. Travis apart was his professionalism and ability to adapt. The conditions changed throughout both trips, but he always had a plan and consistently put us on fish. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable and having a great time from start to finish. Whether you’re an experienced angler or it’s your first time fishing the Keys, I can’t recommend Capt. Travis enough. If you’re looking for a captain who works hard, knows the water, and genuinely wants you to have an unforgettable day, book with him. We’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in the Florida Keys.

Half Day Trip – Backcountry (AM) • 2 adultsMy 16 year old son and I had a great time fishing with Travis who was very knowledgeable of the Everglades area where we caught plenty of mangrove, snapper and black drum, Sheepshead and snook as well. Some action was had with tarpon too! Even though we’re experienced anglers back home, Travis gave us a lot of insight on how to fish these areas. Would definitely recommend fishing guru and Travis. Half Day Trip – Backcountry (PM) • 3 adultsfishing a bit slow, but we caught mangrove snappers, hit a school of snook, sharks in the area making it a bit hard but captain was very attentive and patient. we hooked a spinner shark which was exciting. Trip best for friends or family. Easy communication with Travis, he was prompt and had plenty of bait before trip started so we had plenty of time to fish. Nice boat, fully stocked amd plenty of room would book again! Highly recommend
Response from CaptainThank you Karen! Had a great time with yall! Was an absolute pleasure!

Full Day Trip – Backcountry • 2 adultsCaptain Travis provides an absolutely amazing light-tackle fishing experience. From the start, he’s extremely responsive and takes the time to ask what you want to do before the trip. He truly tailors the day around your goals and skill level. The Everglades is an absolute playground, with tons of light-tackle species available year-round. His boat, Shallow Water Sport, is a fishing machine—cruising around 35 mph in as little as 6 inches of water. Honestly, the ride through Everglades National Park alone was worth the cost of the trip, even if we never touched a rod. The boat is very roomy with a stable hull, allowing multiple people to fish comfortably at the same time. Captain Travis genuinely enjoys putting his customers on fish, runs hard when it counts, and isn’t afraid to try new techniques or locations to make the day successful. Most importantly, he teaches along the way—sharing the techniques and styles that have worked for him. Unless your a seasoned very you will leave a better angler than when you arrived. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, passionate captain who delivers a top-tier Everglades fishing experience, you won’t be disappointed. 🎣

What's biting with A Fishing Guru- Inshore in Islamorada
The fall is the best time of year to fish the flats in Islamorada, and you'll see this in September. With fewer crowds, lots of Bonefish and Permit on the flats, and Snook in the mangroves, you're in for a treat.
