I booked a couple of days in advance and we fixed the exact time 2 days before, just to make sure to get the best conditions for fishing.
Finally we start early at 6 am. We were the frist boat out there. THAT was the right way!
After catching 5 Skipjacks (getting navigated by the birds) we were happy to land a Dorade and a Yellow Fin Tuna.  It seems that other boats were not sucessfull….  and the early moring, sunrise, light, calm: Best time to go out for me!
Overall, completly sucessfull trip for us. No hipster trip with Cafe Latte, Croissants and Fruitplate with fulltime entertainment! I booked Fishing with very good local Guides on perfect boat, and thats what I got. And i got CATCHING. Best Value!!!! Dont even think about booking other guys for your fishingtrip. Just book here!!!
Very sad that it was pur last day down in Le Morne. Otherweise I had booked an other trip, trying other types of fishing. So maybe book a trip for the start of your stay.

We had a spectacular afternoon big game fishing trip with Labonne and his crew! Labonne was professional with his communication and kindly ensured we were collected from a convenient location in the area. With the expertise of Labonne and his crew we caught close to 10 Skipjack tuna! They guided my partner with reeling in the fish, always tried to find good spots and throughout shared their fishing knowledge and answered our many questions! The views of the ocean, the birds and of course the island views of Mauritius were breathtaking - we even got to watch the sunset! The boat was also very comfortable. At the end, Labonne and crew cleaned a freshly caught Skipjack tuna for us which we took away for a delicious dinner. This was an experience that we will never forget and can’t thank Labonne and his crew enough, we highly recommend :)

Went out fishing with Labonne’s team Ivanne and Adam, and had a fantastic morning on the sea. Very knowledgeable and nice crew, doing their best to find the fish - and they did!
We got bonito and yellow fin. Moreover the views are amazing.

Every year I choose Maria to get out there in search of the notorious big bleu marlin. There’s no other feeling than being close to the water in a 25 foot pirogue knowing that at any moment a lurking beast can strike the lures. We had such a great experience as this is exactly what happen yesterday when a 450 pounds bleu marlin chose the closest lure to the boat for its snack. On the strike the fish completely jumped out of the water so impressive sheer raw force what an adrenaline I’ve never seen such an agressive strike with a monster fish less than 5 meters. Will never forget thanks to the Maris Team 100%
