Jaciel is exactly who you want to be out on the water with. He is warm, charasmatic, and an absolute professional when it comes to fishing.
His boat has two motors, he has lifejackets on board, he has first aid training. Cold drinks are provided.

I loved warching them catch the sardines within the marina at the start. Then we went out to the “live bait” guy bobbing in his boat like an OXXO on the ocean.
It’s called fishing, not catching; but we caught our first fish within 15 minutes of dropping a line.

There were whales bobbing like gophers on the canadian prairies all around us. Birds diving, and the scenery was sublime.
In the end, we caught 2 fish, in about 3 hours. It was an awesome day.
If you’re looking for more sport fishing, a full day on the open sea, may be better suited for you.
For us it was perfect. Jaciel directed us where ro take out freshly caught fish for lunch. They charge 200 pesos per person to prepare it.

What an absolutely incredible experience! From start to finish, the fishing tour in Puerto de Mita was top-notch. The crew was friendly, professional, and clearly knew the waters like the back of their hand. They made sure I was comfortable, taught me a few tricks, and kept the energy high the entire time.

The highlight? We landed an amazing 170 poubd Marlin and a many Mahi Mahi — both put up an unforgettable fight! Watching that Marlin leap out of the water was something I’ll never forget. The Mahi Mahi was a beautiful catch, and they even had some fillet into ceviche right on the boat. They also had fillets for me to take to a local returant to prepare — fresh doesn’t get any better than that.

The scenery out on the open ocean was breathtaking — calm blue water, warm sunshine, and great company. It was the perfect mix of excitement and relaxation. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just want to try something new, this fishing tour is absolutely worth it. Fishing Punta Mita is a must!!

Can’t recommend it enough — Punta Mita truly delivered one of the best fishing days of my life!

Booked with Jaciel for Tuesday morning at 7:30am, woke up to lightning, thunder, rain and wind. He was very flexible with us and said he’d wait until 9 to see if it got better, but then graciously moved us to following morning. Jaciel and Eddy were waiting right where they said they’d be and we got started right away! Boat had shade and they provided waters and sodas. We did a bit of trolling and about 30 minutes in saw a couple of big marlin cruising around and even saw them jumping!Jaciel put out live bait and we got a bite but alas could not get any of those big guys. We ended up with our first 2 fish, good size skipjack. Then, YAY, caught a good size mahi mahi! Went to a couple more spots and caught a small roosterfish, then went to a mahi spot but I actually had to cut trip short bc I was starving and wanted to eat the mahi we had caught :) Jaciel and Eddie were willing to stay out until we got our moneys worth though, highly recommend!!

My 14 year old son and I had an amazing time! We booked a full day fishing trip snd were just hoping for a memorable experience, and our expectations were exceeded! We left Punta Mita about 8 am in late April and spent the first two hours on the beautiful ocean roller coaster ride. We found a huge pod of dolphins after about three hours and tried live bait near them but didn’t get any bites. We kept going and my son and I told ourselves even if we didn’t catch anything, this day was still awesome. Not long after, we heard the “zing” of the reel and after a fun fight, brought in a beautiful Jack. Then, two more Jacks came for the fight, plus another fish we lost just before it got to the boat. Not long after, we had another bite, but this one wanted to fight! After about 30 minutes and exhausted arms we had a beautiful 60 pound Yellowfin tuna on board. Jaciel and Eddie prepared the most amazing ceviche on the boat! They filleted what we wanted, which we took to the local restaurant who prepared our fish for several courses. It was an amazing day that will be forever in our memories. We are beyond thankful for El Capitan Jaciel, first mate Eddie, and the Murietta for an unforgettable experience. Muchas gracias!

Our day of fishing started very slow. We went to a local hot spot about 12 miles north of Punta Mita. Fished it very hard until noon and got nothing. We picked up and headed to another spot. On our way the captain spotted something to our west and we investigated. Within ten minutes we had found a large school of tuna that we followed for the next two plus hours. We hooked six fish and landed three nice tuna. We could have had more but I had to get back for a dinner with my friends. The captain has a great knowledge of the area and it really paid off for me. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely use them again
