The Captain was determined to hook us up with Blue Marlin. He took a beating in the passing torrential rain searching for weed lines and birds. He got soaked in the tuna tower as we searched. The mate (Colin) was very friendly and loved his job. He kept us as interested and let us be as hands on as we wanted. We eventually hooked a nice size Baracuda.
Boat was a bit rough but it is a working boat, not a cruiser. The Post seemed more luxurious and much larger.
Overall a great experience with seasoned fishermen who delivered.

This was what I expected from a novice fisherman’s perspective. We went about 8 miles out, caught a 170-pound marlin and enjoyed a few beers. Overall a great experience.

Crew and captain were great. Fishing gear was ok but not really appropriate for the fish they were trying to catch. We caught just small fish.

First off we got there early finalized remaining payment and were set to go.  They put us on a boat and then came and got us later saying.  “Speedy is coming in now and you are going to go in a different boat”. So we get out walk over and wait 15-20 minutes for that boat to arrive and passengers to get off, etc.  but then the boat won’t start back up so after waiting while they try to fix it we are told to go back to the original boat we went on.  Ok.  Things happen.  Then we go back to that boat and now it won’t start either.  So now we have waited almost 45 minutes past when we were supposed to leave and both boats won’t start.  So he finds a third boat that just came in.  Smallest of the three and then we get on, leave an hour late in a small boat in 15-20 foot waves and has no fighting chair.  We wouldn’t have been able to reel a fish in if we caught one it was so rough.  Needless to say we paid extra for a 6 hour charter and we went out for 3 hours.  Speedy may seem like a good guy and maybe he is, but the operation is terrible and a complete scam.  I can understand not catching fish but all the other things as well as only taking us out for half the time paid for is not good business.  Nobody offered us a partial refund or a refund for the extra money paid for the 6 hour trip instead of 4 hour and we received 3.  We are going back to Jamaica in Fall and I can assure you that we will not be booking with this operation.

Still waiting for a refund for the difference in a 6 hour and 4 hour trip!!

I had an absolute great day out on the water with these guys we didn’t catch anything but that didn’t mean that they weren’t working hard for it. They checked lines and switched baits faster than anyone I’ve ever seen. We didn’t catch anything like I said but that’s how fishing goes. I absolutely plan on coming back, these guys are great and I highly recommend them.

The captain and crew were excellent. They provided any instruction we may have needed, plenty of refreshments and were very professional and courteous the entire trip. I would certainly use them again if fishing in Jamaica.

As soon as we entered the docks, the crew greeted us with big smiles. Meeting Cptn Speedy was wonderful as he was helpful in getting us situated for our day on the water. We headed out with a party of 6 and we were involved right from the start. Having grown up in Hawaii and fishing a lot, it was great to see the rest of my party getting hands on experience with all the gear. We had a fully stocked cooler with beer and water that the boat provides, so all we had to do was bring our own lunch. We set out 6 lines for the day and saw only a sailfish chasing our bait. Sad to say that was the only action we had. But overall we had a wonderful day just being on the water and getting to know our Jamaican friends.

Seas were very rough - didn’t catch anything although it was their fishing season, didn’t even get a bite.  Crew was great just wish we would have had more bait and really could have down deep drop fishing.  Maybe that area is just fished out.
